You lay in Jason's arms for what seemed like hours, his heartbeat thumping against the side of your pale face in a steady beat. It was so comforting but nothing, not even the toymaker's soft spoken voice , could shake the thoughts swimming around your brain.
Jason had always been someone for you to look up to, your creator and his chosen one. He had always been there for you, no matter his motives. His personality is what you fell in love with. He opened up a whole new world to you and now that could change. The mere thought made tears fall from your eyes, your newly fixed wings wrapping around you both as the toymaker pats your back in comfort.
The soft sounds of that all familiar music box filled the air around you and you could swear that the noise was coming from Jason but that was an impossible notion. Looking up to meet Jason's gaze you see a few hairs that were a visible white color, standing out from his normal crimson locks. You reach up, laying the tuft of hair in your palm, tears flowing now more then ever.
The toymaker looked dearly in pain, the white slowly spreading down his hair.
"You shake your head in denial. Everything was fine until Vine showed up in your lives. Perhaps....
" Vine did this to you didn't he? " Jason's rare soft expression sours, his ebony lips curling in a look of disgust.
" What did you just say? " You take a deep breath, ignoring the look of raw hate in the toymaker's eyes. You repeat yourself once more, watching as Jason quickly pushes you away from him hatefully.
" No mere man could do this to me! "
You sigh, seeing the hesitation in his features. He was still holding back, irritating you rather deeply. You were his chosen. Why was he still hiding things? You had tried to be civil with the toymaker for so long, an approach that seemed less effective then a tissue in a room filled with blood. Perhaps it was time to mix things up.
You scowl at Jason deeply, mustering up every courage to hold back the tears for what you were about to do to the person you held so dear.
" Tell me...now Jason. The truth " He huffs amusingly, folding his arms in distaste for your rebellious actions against him, walking to his workbench and picking up one of his tools.
You knew where this was going, the months of living with the toymaker making his actions rather predictable. You could act before he could, perhaps throw him off guard.
You quickly shoot red crystals in the toymaker's general direction, hoping deep down you were able to hit your desired target. You knew what hitting Jason meant for your life.
No life at all.
Darkness.
Silence.
Dead.
Your breath hitches and time seemed to slow around you but soon enough you were given permission to breathe once more, knocking the tool from Jason's hands.
He stumbles back a little in surprise, turning to you with his mouth wide open in shock and the corners of his black lips curled into a sinister smirk.
" When did you get the nerve, my dear (Y/N)? "
You walk towards him, watching him back into a wall. How the times had changed. He was once doing this to you but now the tables had turned and you had to admit, you liked it.
" I always had the nerve. Your blood remember? " The toymaker's creation had come back to haunt him and for the first time was fighting back.
Your grasp Jason's shoulders, pinning him to the wall.
You didn't want to do this but perhaps this was the only way to get to the truth. Tough on the outside, too soft on the inside. You were not made to fight back, the toymaker knew this. You had to be brave and keep composure...for now.
Your mind tried to focus but was soon blasted with a hit of fear, realising your actions. It all came crashing down and your once bold voice was reduced to a mere stutter.
" You had better tell me the truth...or else "
