The Notebook

Evelyn's P.O.V

"I've watched the Notebook like eighty times" Jackson groaned pulling me into the movie store "Lydia and I outvoted you, It's a timeless love story and we should be quick Lydia's waiting in the car" I said looking around the almost empty store "the next time we have a movie night I'm picking the movie" Jackson stated looking through the stacks of movies "urg yeah, I can't find it" I exclaimed flicking through another stack of discs. "Hey? can anyone help me find the Notebook?" Jackson yelled looking around for someone to help. There was no one around, I stepped back bumping into Jackson.

"Jackson maybe we should just leave" I whispered pulling his jacket, he ignored me and walked closer to the counter. I could smell blood and a lot of it "Jackson no!" I rushed forward but it was too late, over the counter was a dead body covered in blood. I jumped back as a loud shriek escaped my mouth. The power suddenly blew out, leaving us in complete darkness "come on" Jackson grabbed my hand pulling me as we hid behind the shelves "someone's here" I whispered peaking around the shelves, I gasped as the Alpha stared back at me.

A loud growl erupted the store as all the shelves began to collapse, I grabbed Jackson but he pushed me out of the way as the shelf fell, pinning him to the ground. "Evelyn run" he choked out gasping for air "I'm not leaving you" I used all my strength to move the shelf but the Alpha was quick to jump on to the case crushing Jackson further into the ground. I stared up at the Alpha "please don't hurt him" I whispered so Jackson wouldn't hear.

Alpha tilted its head and let out another growl, he pulled the back of Jackson's jacket back to reveal nail marks "Evelyn, get Lydia and run now please" Jackson begged, I slipped my hand into Jackson "I'm not leaving you" I growled out, the Alpha stared down at the nail marks one last time before crashing through the store window towards the woods. I quickly pushed the shelf off of Jackson and pulled him out. I crushed him into a hug "I've got you"

I sat on the end of the bed, Scott crouched down in front of me "are you okay?" I shook my head pushing my hair away from my face "Scott, the alpha nearly killed Jackson and I couldn't do anything" I stood up kicking my laundry basket across the room "Scott I'm meant to be stronger and faster, yet I couldn't do anything but watch. He's stronger than us" I whispered. Scott grabbed my arms pulling me to him, he wrapped his arms around me tightly.

"I know Evelyn, but I don't think we're ready for this" Scott exclaimed gripping his hair in frustration "Scott, I don't think we would ever be ready for this" I grabbed my coat and slipped it on "where are you going?" Scott asked sitting down in his computer chair "I'm going home, I need to sleep"

I parked my car in front of the remains of Derek's home, I inhaled deeply before stepping out into the cold air "Derek come out, come out, wherever you are" I whispered, opening the door and stepping inside. I stood at the bottom of the staircase "what are you doing here Evelyn?" I jumped to see Derek at the top of the stairs.

"I needed to talk to you" I snapped, he slowly walked down the stairs "about what?" I stepped back as he reached the bottom "I saw the alpha at the movie store" Derek glared as his jaw clenched "you were at the movie store?" I nodded crossing my arms over my chest "I guess Scott forgot to mention that" Derek mumbled, I rolled my eyes "I'm glad I was there, I was face to face with him" I exclaimed, Derek just stared at me "he almost killed Jackson, practically crushing him to death. I tried to lift the shelf crushing him but the alpha was stronger, I begged him to hurt Jackson" Derek held his hand up cutting me off.

"Wait, you didn't run? you stayed knowing he could kill you" He spat angrily. I crossed my arms over my chest "I was not about to leave Jackson there" I sneered back, Derek stepped closer to me but I held my ground "you would risk your life for that obnoxious kid?" Derek asked, his tone cold.
