Mrs. Puff gently spread the lace covering over the wooden table. It was still too early to light the candles, as she wouldn't want them to look too uneven when he arrived.

"Dinner is almost ready~" she half-sang out loud to herself.

Poppy had been planning this dinner for weeks. Sixteen-year anniversaries don't come around often! She could still recall some years ago when Eugene first asked her to move in with him. She felt elated! No one had shown her this much love and affection since her late husband. However, the past was the past, and the future appeared bright with her long-term boyfriend.

Mrs. Puff grabbed a spoon, sipped her concoction, and did a small victory shimmy. Yes, it was almost perfect! Only the best for this dinner.

Poppy concentrated on her dinner, bouncing around the kitchen with delight. She could not wait for Eugene to come home.

"Oh my, that was delicious!" Jolene exclaimed with a giggle. She slapped the table with vigor, clearly satisfied with her meal.

"Oh, Eugene, is that your office?" Jolene chimed in. The door was barely halfway open.
Krabs felt his claws dampening.

"I never figured you were the interior decorating type. Could I get a short, itty bitty, little tour of your office? Just as a small treat before I go," she pleaded.

Your voice is soft like summer rain

Eugene shifted his weight on his stubby crab legs. There's no harm in entertaining a friend, right? A couple minutes, and he'd be in his boat, en route to his home.

"Eh, sure. Come on in, Miss Jolene. I don't think you'll find a whole lot of interestin' things in there," he replied, waving at her to follow him.

"Oh," she whispered, "I wouldn't be too sure about that, sugar."

And I cannot compete with you, Jolene
