Necromancers = Talk to the dead (Either summon a spirit, or an apparition) and in some rare occasions can raise the dead. They normally have very deep dark black hair and near black eyes and look close to death. On VERY rare occasions there is a necromancer with green, brown, hazel or even blue eyes.

Vampires = Can't be exposed to sunlight for very long unless wearing a certain ring. They are the fastest running supernatural and have a special 'vegetarian' diet whilst at school of only animal blood. They can not drink from a human whilst at school because if a vampire drinks from a human, that human can turn into a vampire. This is not permitted at the academy, because they cannot risk the mortal world finding out about them. It a human is bitten under the age of 21, they will carry on aging until they reach said age. Vampires specifically hate werewolves as it was these two species that started the war.

Witches/Wizards = Are able to cast spells but have to use wands. Without their wands they are completely powerless. Witches and wizards have stronger powers than the fae but can not do as many spells. They can not heal others with magic, they have to make potions which take a long time to make. They can not levitate/fly without taking a potion and they are also weaker in strength than a fae physically. Wizards and Witches are also quite tall.

Warlocks = A Warlock is similar to a witch/wizard, but is born a lot stronger and their power develops a lot faster. Their power also drains a lot slower as they are using it, but it does take longer to return to them. This means that they can be extremely vulnerable  They also find it easier to learn and understand the spells. When their power is at it's max, it is 3 times as strong as witch and wizards

-Shifters = Shifters can turn into anything but they have one animal that they are most comfortable/in tune with. This means that if they are most comfortable as a rabbit, they may look like or have behaviours that can be associated with a rabbit. There is no special type of shifter they are all the same. It all depends on what animal you are most comfortable with that makes you 'special'.

-Werewolves = Can transform from their human form into their wolf form at will. This skill comes to them at 16 years of age. Wolves with a completely black coat are the strongest, and have the highest pack(an alpha) ranking, and as they have less black on their coats they have less power. For example, a white wolf would be ranked lowest in the pack (an omega). Werewolves have 'mates' but will only be able to sense their mate when they turn 16 and first change into a wolf. They will know their mate by a touch because they will literally feel a spark.

-Fae = Fae have wings that grow from between their shoulder blades. Depending on their colour is how powerful they are. Gold=most powerful/gifted, Silver=second most powerful, Pink=average, Blue= below average and Black = very little power. Their eyes match the colours of their wings. Fae are very slender and quite tall. Shortest height is about 5ft 5in for females and 5ft 7in for men. Fae are not as powerful as a witch or wizard but can do certain spells they can't. They can heal people with the flick of their wrist and fly. Fae's power can not run out. Fae are also known for being very mischievous. 

-Mermaids = There are two types of mermaid. A normal mermaid and a siren. A normal mermaid gets the basic powers of the ocean. Waves, water tornado's and can become human when out of the water. Sirens can control people's minds just by looking at them. They have the same water powers of the ocean as normal mermaids but can NOT leave the water. This means that all of their classes are in Atlantis

500 years ago there was a war containing every supernatural species. There were two sides to this war and many died. Now, 500 years later the species from the two sides don't get along. The hatred between the two sides is so strong that there has been many occasions where a supernatural from the other side has purposely harmed another from the other side just for fun.
