Walking into the tattoo shop, Denni had an idea of the tattoo she wanted. It was going to be a memorial for her grandmother that passed a few months before. Taking a look around she smiled at the calming sound of the tattoo guns and the flash art all over the walls. It was a small shop on the main strip in Tacoma. Her attention was brought to the person behind the counter.
“Can I help you, sweetheart?” an older man covered in tattoos asked.
She gave him a warm smile and nodded. “I have an appointment for a tattoo.” she explained. “Denni Munson.”
The man checked the schedule and nodded. “Happy will take care of ya.” he said, handing her a form to fill out.
As she filled everything out, Happy had come from the back clearing his throat. She looked up and gave him her signature smile. “Hey, Happy?” at his nod, she stood and handed him the paper she had filled out. When he was satisfied it was all together, he led her to his station.
“So, you know what you want?” he asked as he began putting his machine together as she watched.
“Yea, I want it exactly how it is.” she explained.
Looking over at the drawing, the corners of his lips curled. “You draw this?” he asked, impressed with the talent. At her nod, he took the paper and looked it over. “That your grandma's writing?”
Giving him a nod and a sad fond smile, she explained the significance of it. “It was something she always said. Helped me get through alot. When I left home to come here for college a few years ago, she wrote it in a letter.”
Happy got up from his station and took the drawing and made a stencil. As he was waiting for it to process, he looked her over. She looked familiar but couldn’t put his finger on it. “You know where you want to put it?” he asked.
Taking off her jacket, she revealed a sleeve on her right arm full of black and grey tattoos. On the other was a partial sleeve. “I want to incorporate it in this.” she said. “However you wanna do it is fine, as long as her writing stays the same.”
Giving her a nod and a small smile, he instructed her to get comfy and went about his work. He got the stencil on and began to freehand some old school roses. As he was drawing he noticed the intricate tattoo on the inside of her bicep. It was the SOA logo. A more feminine version of the one he wore proudly. Looking up from his drawing, his brow creased. "Why do you have a reaper tattoo?" He asked.
She smiled at the memory of her and her two  best friends getting inked the day they patched. "It's from my dad's club. I cant prospect cause I'm a girl, but seeing as I'm a legacy, I was allowed to get the reaper when my best friends got patched in."
He took in that information and smirked, rolling up his sleeve and showing off the same tattoo. "I patched Tacoma a few years ago." He explained.
Her eyes sparkled, "Well no shit." She chuckled. "Wait… Happy… Holy shit!"
He let out a deep chuckle as he started to pull ink out and set it up. "Check out the design. See if you like it."
She looked at the tattoo and grinned. "Love it." She gushed. Then her eyes found his. "So Happy as in Killa?" She asked.
His eyes never left hers as the toothpick in his mouth rolled over his lips. His silence was enough for her to figure it out. "Holy shit." She whispered. "You're like a damn legend."
He chuckled as he tested the machine and told her not to move. She did as she was told and for the next hour, the two made small talk. Which for Happy, was something totally out of his norm. He hates small talk, but he couldn't help it with this girl. She had this energy that just sucked him in.

"All done." He announced as he wiped it clean. "Check it out."
Denni got up off the table and took a look at the tattoo in the mirror. Tears began to form as she read her grandmother's words that were now permanently etched into her skin. "Oh my God, Happy. I love it." She almost whispered. She turned to face him and couldn't help throwing her arms around him hugging him tightly.
He chuckled as he hugged her back. "Glad ya like it." He rasped. "Let me get ya wrapped."
She watched as he wrapped the plastic around her arm as butterflies danced in her belly. She knew she should be scared of this man, but she was drawn to him. Once she was wrapped he walked her out front where, Cliff, as she learned his name was standing behind the counter again. She paid and left a tip for Happy. Smiling, she gave them a wave and headed out the door.

A few weeks later, Happy is sitting in the SAMTAC clubhouse and he can't get his mind off of Denni. The sweetbutts around the clubhouse unable to calm the storm that was brewing in his heart. As he watched his brothers around the clubhouse he noticed a few faces from Charming in the mix. Then he sees the smile that almost made his heart stop three weeks ago. She's laughing with Opie and Jax. Almost as if she can feel his eyes boring into her, her head turns and sees him sitting at the bar. A wide smile spreads across her face as she excuses herself and makes her way through the crowd and to the bar where he's sitting.
"Hey, Killa." She said as she sat in the seat beside him. "Buy me a beer."
He gave her a nod and motioned for the prospect for two beers. Once their drinks are in front of them, he grabs her arm, checking out the tattoo. "Looks good." He said plainly.
Denni looks down at her arm and smirks. "Cause you did it." She said with a wink. "So why are you sitting here on your own. Aren't you guys usually entertaining sweetbutts?"
He snorted at her boldness and shook his head. "No one piqued my 8nterest until two minutes ago." He admitted.
Her cheeks started to blush and gave him a goofy grin. "You are dangerous." She said, before taking a sip of her beer.
Raising his eyebrows, he gave her a look. “How so?” he asked.
She took another sip, thinking over her answer. “Listen, I know how you boys are. You’re slick and can get whatever woman you want. It’s easy for a girl to get all caught up in this.” she explained, gesturing to his body. “But I know how you all treat your women. The stupid run clause, the croweaters and sweetbutts. But that want is still there. That’s where the danger lies.”
He took in her words and could see where she would think that. But she was determined to prove her wrong. This woman was the only one on his mind for three damn weeks and all they did was talk. “What if I said I can prove you wrong?” he asked, moving in closer.
“I’d say good luck.” she snorted, finishing off her beer. Her breath hitched as Happy pulled her into him. The feeling of his toned body against hers felt so right. That pull she had felt towards him the first time they met was even stronger. "Jesus." She whispered to herself.
Happy's grip on her tightened as he felt her begin to relax against him. Having her melt into his body made his stomach flip. This girl had him. "How about we get out of here." He suggested.
Denni's eyes searched his and a smile crept onto her face. "I'm not that kinda girl, Killa."
She said as she eyed him.
“Never said you were.” he said matter of factly. “I just asked if you wanted to get out of here.”
Denni looked over to where her father and her friends were. They were each entertaining a sweetbutt and decided that hanging out with Happy would be better than watching them. “Sure. Take me home Killa. We can watch a movie or something.”
Happy smirked at her and she quickly shut him down. “Don’t even think about it.”

Sitting in her living room, they both sat on the couch laughing. “No joke. Jax walked around with that black eye for two weeks.” she laughed as she told a story from when she was younger growing up in the club. “Ok so I told you one. What about you?”
Happy looked down at his beer thinking of what he could tell her. He wasn’t used to talking about his childhood or his life in general. He let people know what he wanted them to. But Denni, she could get him to open up. Which scared the shit out of him. “My childhood wasn’t all that exciting.” He admitted. “Ma raised me on her own, my pop died when I was real young.”
Dennis gave him a sad smile and touched his arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Well your ma did great.” she said. “She knows about the club?”
He nodded and smiled. “She hated it at first. Would cuss me out every chance she got.” he chuckled. “But now, she accepts it. Knows this is the life I was made for.”
Denni knew exactly how he felt. “I get it. Being made for this life.” she sighed. “I thought I had to get away, do the college thing. Then one day I woke up and I had the itch. I needed to do something Outlaw-ish.”
He chuckled and moved a piece of her hair out of her face. They had long ago abandoned the movie that she had put on. Their focus was on each other. “So what did the little outlaw do?” he asked.
She smiled wide and grabbed her book off the coffee table and handed it to him. He read page after page of numbers and codes. “You’re running books?” he asked.
She nodded with a laugh. “I’m amazing with it. How the hell do you think I can afford this place?” she asked, gesturing around her apartment. It was truly a nice place. Her taste was simple and clean and everything looked new. “Dad almost shit a brick when he found out. But now he makes runs up here to help me hide the money.”
Happy hung on every word she said as she explained the outlaw side of her life. Noticed the sparkle in her eyes and the smile that didn’t fade. He wanted to taste those lips. Feel her against his body again. She felt so right. Before he had a chance to make a move there was a pounding on her door. “Looks like the guys decided to crash here.” she said as she got up from the couch and made her way to the door.
Looking through the peephole she saw Jax and Opie, horsing around in the hallway. She rolled her eyes as she unlocked and opened the door. “What the hell are you two doing here?” she asked with a laugh.
“Beats staying at the clubhouse.” Jax said as he pushed his way into the apartment. He stopped when he noticed Happy sitting on her couch. “We interrupting?”

Denni snorted and shook her head. “Not that it's any of your business, but yes.”
Opie saw Happy and puffed out his chest. Alcohol making him a little bolder than normal. He stepped towards Happy, who had stood when the guys walked in, pointing a finger at him. “You better not hurt her.”
She sighed and closed her eyes, embarrassment written all over her face. “Ope, shut up.”
Opie turned to face her and shook his head. “No way, little foot.” he argued.
Happy smirked and walked over to her, dropping a kiss on her forehead. “I’ll see you around. You know where to find me.”
She sighed and nodded as he walked out the door. She turned on her heels and glared at her two drunk friends. “What the hell?” she yelled.
Jax gave her a smirk and shook his head. “You even know who he is?” he asked, flopping down onto her couch.
She huffed and knocked his shoes off of her coffee table. “Yes. Happy Lowman. Tacoma Killer.” she said, drooping down beside him. “I’m not an idiot.”
Opie snorted as he sat on the oversized chair across from them. “When it comes to men, yes, you are.”
She growled as she threw a pillow at his head and got up. “Whatever. I’m going to bed.” She walked to her room grumbling to herself and slammed her bedroom door.
Jax looked from the hallway and looked to Opie. “Looks like we have damage control tomorrow.”
Opie rolled his eyes and sighed. “What else is new?”
