Denni paced as she listened to her father curse on the other end. The last time she heard him like that was when Jax, Opie and herself were picked up for arson when they were fourteen. She was thankful that it was Unser that had picked them up or else all three would have been on the fast track to juvie.

"Dad... no.... But.... Yes, sir." Happy heard her defeated sigh and cringed knowing what was coming. He watched as she picked at a stray thread on her top. Seeing her tears fall silently he knew the verdict. It was what she feared. He walked into the bedroom and sat beside her on the bed.

She tossed her phone onto the bed and flipped back, letting out a groan. "I gotta go back to Charming."

Happy's stomach dropped at that realization that she would be gone. "How long?"

"Until he thinks it's safe for me to come back." She sighed. "Me in Charming.... Gonna be a shit show."

"Don't gotta be." He tried to soothe her fears. "Think it'll be good for you to see your friends."

Denni snorted and tugged on his shirt to get him to lay beside her. "But you won't be there." She mumbled as she snuggled up to him.

He let out a sigh as his hand ran over her hair. "You'll see me. It's not that far of a ride. Besides, I've been thinking about going NOMAD anyway."

Denni's head snapped up at those words. "What? Why? Do you know how dangerous it is to be a NOMAD?" she all but shrieked.

He nodded matter of factly. "I do. But you do remember what I do for the club?" At her nod, he continued. "It's easier for me to do when I don't have to be in one place all the time. Besides, my ma's sick. I'd get to see her more."

-

Denni mumbled under her breath as she threw her bags into the back of her car. Ever since she had the talk with Bobby she hadn't been left alone. Whether it be Happy or another patch, she always had a shadow. She threw her shades on and slipped behind the wheel of her Nova and headed for the clubhouse. Her tail following close behind, grumbled as he tried to keep up.

As she pulled into the lot, she saw Happy and Kozik packing their saddlebags and arguing over something. If she had to make the trek back to Charming, she was happy it was with the two of them.

She giggled as she watched them argue back and forth. "You two sound like an old married couple."

Happy leveled her with a glare and pulled her into him, dropping a quick kiss to her lips. "He's not my type."

Kozik put his hands in his hips and feigned offense. "Not what you said last night, Killer."

Denni laughed as she listened to the two of them. "So when do we head out?" She asked.

Happy sighed and sat on his bike, pulling her between his legs. "We leave when Lee gets back." He explained. "We're making a drop on the way."

Denni rolled her eyes and snorted. "Thought this whole trip back to Cali was to get me out of trouble." She chuckled. "Here you are, no doubt loading up my damn car with your guns."

They were interrupted by the thunder of motorcycles pulling into the lot. She pulled away from Happy when she noticed it wasn't just the men from SAMTAC. "Pop?" She huffed. "Well so much for some fun on the trip down."

Happy held her hips and looked up into her eyes. "Who said anything about fun?" He asked with a smirk.

She rolled her eyes as she pulled away from Happy. Hearing Kozik open his mouth about before heading to where Bobby was talking to Lee. "What are you doing here, old man?" she huffed with a small smile.

Bobby pulled her into a hug and dropped a kiss to the top of her head. "Clay sent a few of us up here to do a drop." he explained.

"And you just had to volunteer." she finished for him. Seeing the smirk on his face she rolled her eyes. "Pop, I'm fine. You're gonna give yourself a stroke if you keep it up."

Bobby let out a laugh and pulled her into his side. "Sweetheart, I've come to terms with an early grave. If the life doesn't take me, being your father will."

It was Denni's turn to let out a laugh. "What can I say? I am my father's child."

He shook his head in protest. "Nah, you're all your ma. Only thing you got from me is the hair." he said with a smirk.

Denni rolled her eyes and before she could say anything they were interrupted by Kozik. "We ready to head out?" he called out.

Bobby took a look around and sighed. "Looks like we're all set. You keep us in your mirrors and for god sake be careful."

Denni gave him a wink and headed for her car. She hated the idea of going back to Charming at the beginning of this, but now that it was time to head out she was starting to get a little excited to see her old friends. As she slid behind the wheel, she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "You got this Denni." She pulled her sunglasses down onto her face and revved up the Nova. "Let's get this shit show started."

-

"What do you mean she's gone?" a very irritated voice came over the line.

"She hasn't shown up for work in two days and when Lenny swung by her place it was a ghost town."

The man on the other end sighed heavily as he listened to the information that was being relayed. "She's got to be with those damn bikers." he growled. "Find them and you will no doubt find ther."

Sully nodded as he listened to his orders. "You got it, boss." he said over the line and looked at his partner. "We think we know where she might be headed."

Sully hung up the phone and watched as Lenny walked out of the apartment with a sly smirk on his face. As Lenny slid into the passenger seat of the sleek black Cadillac, he held up a piece of paper with a phone number on it. "It's the number for a motel." he explained. "In Charming."

A grin spread across Sully's lips that could rival the Cheshire cat's as he listened to Lenny explain. "Looks like a road trip is in our future, Lenny."
