[Mentions of self-starvation, death and dead bodies].
The month had almost flown past if they hadn’t gripped so tightly onto its edges. Good news- depending on how you look at it- came from the time that past: Draco and Harry didn’t have to care for Laitan during their school time. Molly and Arthur said they’d help look after Laitan during school, the Slytherins knew it was a distraction from Ron. He even got letters from the twins. In their words, there was a big ‘blow-out' between Arthur, Molly and Ginny. They couldn’t catch it all, just small lines:
‘I am never going back to that school!’ Ginny snapped as her parents were talking to her about her fifth year. ‘Don’t yell at your mother like that!’ Arthur shouted at his daughter. There was mumbling for a while, then something in Ginny snapped.
‘Not like you cared for him! You barely paid him any attention!’ She screeched at the top of her lungs.
‘Ginerva Molly Weasley!’ Arthur yelled again, Mrs. Weasley hadn’t raised her voice once.
‘No! For once, you will listen to me! You were horrible parents to Ron! He got no attention from you, Bill and Percy basically raised him, not you two! You only paid him attention when he befriended Potter!’ After her outburst, she stormed up the stairs. Fred, George and Hermione were listening in. Fred and George were reminded of the fight Percy and their parents got in last year, this one not as brutal, but getting there. Percy was listening from his room but walked out when he heard the Ron comment. He joined his two brothers in a wordless conversation and Hermione worrying about Ginny. Fred saw the worry, so placed an arm around his new found friend.
A couple seconds later, Ginny stormed out the room with a suitcase floating in the air behind her. All four people on the landing moved out her way, but rushed down after her.
‘I am so sick of this family! Never expect me to come back!’ like that, she acciod her broom and flew off in the clouds, nobody could follow her, because it was too cloudy for them to find her.Throughout the month, both Harry and Draco got back into regular eating and sleeping habits. They both confronted the other at the start of Harry’s arrival, leaving them with two breakdowns. Before Harry arrived, Draco was having a nightmare every night, but could only take a dreamless sleep potion every other day, as they are addictive. Nobody could wake him or calm him down, so Draco put up silencing charms when he couldn’t take the potion. The night Harry arrived was the night he forgot to. Mostly, the nightmares were more of memories. They consisted of his father’s punishments with the Crucio curse, stupefy, and many more. There was also some to do with the manor, when he got back from his fourth year for the summer holidays. About the deaths he witnessed, the spine-chilling screams scaring people beyond the grave, the look on the mass murderers faces as they walked around the Manor. He couldn’t fathom how they thought it was right killing innocents or the amount of bodies he’d see around the manor that everyone else stepped on, over or walked past like nothing was wrong.
Harry, when at Private Drive, would have the recurring nightmare of Ron's death and Cedric's. On occasion, their bodies would be replaced with Draco's. The first time that happened, Harry rushed to the bathroom, almost drowning himself in ice cold water. When a shadow blocked the light, Harry went to panic thinking it was Vernon. In actual fact, it was Dudley, watching Harry, shocked in place. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He spoke, still lingering in the doorway. By now, Harry had caught his breathe, relaxing slightly and told Dudley, having a feeling he could trust him. Dudley asked many questions after that Harry answered. "I had no idea your life's been like that... if it counts, I don't think you're a waste of space."
An awkward minute of silence later, "Thanks... Big D." They returned to their rooms for Harry to be woken by a banging at his door to make breakfast.Furthermore, there was talk it isn’t safe going back to Hogwarts with Harry there. Hermione mentioned in a letter her parents were reluctant for her to attend, and they are Muggles so they barely know what’s going on. Blaise got a letter from each of his sisters, two saying to ignore the ones protesting against his decision to attend school. Narcissa even fire called Sirius asking him to talk with Draco about attending or not, and how she didn’t think it was the best idea. Their talk was short: Sirius asked if he was going, Draco replied yes and Sirius said to be safe.
