This chapter made me cry myself, because I based what Hermione tells her parents off what I told my own (Bisexuality, not Pansexality though). And off similar thoughts and feelings I had at the time too.

Life at the Granger household was... a tad awkward at the beginning. Introducing Pansy as her girlfriend, Hermione didn't expect the shocked gasp or the spluttering from her father. Certainly, she didn't expect her parents to sit her down and send Pansy to a bedroom (the spare one, unfortunately).

"Darling, you know we have no problem with what you do at that school as long as you come home... but why didn't you tell us you liked girls, too?" Asked her father.

Before she could answer, her mother asked, "Did we make you feel as if you couldn't tell us?" In such a small voice Hermione thought she herself should feel guilty for not telling them she's pansexual.

"I- no, you didn't..." tesrs formed in the corners of her eyes, "But mom, the world is against people like me- against all my friends! I- I didn't know how you would react!

"Every year, you allow me to go back, knowing exactly what I get up to," they all let out watery laughs, "You have both been a constant in my life and I-" she choked on her words. To help, her mother grabbed her hand, "I don't know what I'd do without you... I didn't want to loose that." She cried harder against her fathers shoulder.

"Why did you feel you could trust your friend, and not us, sweetie?" Hermione knew what her father meant, but the way he worded it... she wanted to profusely apologise. She didn't have an answer, her mind scrambling and clutching at words she just couldn't get out from the overwhelming oxymoron of fear and relief. Weights lifting and more adding on.

Excusing herself, Hermione ran to her room in a state she never thought she would be in again. And she didn't even know why she was crying so hard. Her parents were accepting! How can she be crying over that when Pansy's and Draco's don't accept them? She felt... selfish. Her parents- loving, caring, understanding- accepted her for who she was, putting aside society's thoughts for their daughters love. That is more than anyone could hope for. So why did she feel like being alone?

She did, until two arms circled around her waist from behind. "Shh, darling, shh," Pansy combed her hair lightly and Hermione sank into the arms of safety, "It's okay. What you just did was very, very brave

"Let it out, Hermione, I'm here for you to cry on." With permission, Hermione threw her arms over Pansy's shoulders and burried her face in it, feeling her smooth, thick hair against her ear. Reminding Hermione that this was real. Pansy was with her. She just came out...

Christmas day, however, was full of laughter, stories, baby photos, hot chocolate and presents. In the morning, her and Pansy woke on the sofa before her parents. Hermione made tea for them all, then came back to the sofa where she and Pansy snuggled tightly together in front of the morning TV. Most of it was Hermione showing (telling, more like) Pansy how to change the channel, and helping her with all the references.

Somehow, they managed to fall back asleep: Pansy's head on Hermione's shoulder and Hermione leaning against the arm of the settee very heavily.

"Thank you, Mister and Misses Granger." Pansy sincerely said, falling deeper and deeper in love with the ordinary family. Wondering if this is what Hermione felt when she found Ron's.

"Please, call us Mabel and William, sweetheart."

[Their names in DH when Hermione moves them to Australia are Monica and Wade, so I used the 1st letter]

Smiling, Pansy and Hermione exchanged a look and squeezed each others hand under the table. "They like you." Hermione grinned- her parents gone into the kitchen to bring in the food.

"Thank Merlin for that." She let out a shay breathe.

"You'd probably try and date me even if they didn't."

"You know me so well darling."

"Dinner is served!" Announced William, dancing with the Turkey on the tray. Hermione hung her head and Pansy let out a small chuckle, covering her mouth with her hand.

"William if you drop that Turkey you are sleeping on the couch!" Shouted Mabel from the kitchen. Before they ate, Mabel made them cross arms and grab a cracker. When they pulled them, Pansy won against Hermione. "A crown for a Princess." Hermione said while her parents were distracted, teasing Pansy.

"You mean a Queen, baby." She stated back, fixing the annoying paper crown on her head just because Hermione said that comment.

"So this game-"

"Scrabble."

"Scrabble, right." Pansy's brow furrowed, "Is just putting words in squares?"

"Kitch, we've been through this already!" Hermione groaned.

Pansy waved her hand around, "I know, Hermit, I know." She earnt a smack on the head, "If you call me Kitch I call you Hermit darlin'. But, all I need to do, is form a word?"

"Yes Pansy! For the last time- yes!"

"Ok, well then." Elegantly, Pansy laid out the letters, spelling the word "Quizzify" in all the correct places. Smiling to herself, Pansy tallied her own score, "That is 419 points if multiplied by the bonus', correct?"

She seemed so smug, but Hermione knew she had won. 'Oxyphenbutazone" was spread across the board on the times threes and twos and, "Nice game." She dusted off her trousers, going to get up.

"Wait what does that word mean?" Pansy tested.

Clearing her throat, Hermione answered, "An anti-inflammatory medication used to treat arthritis and bursitis." the other girl pouted, "Oh don't be salty, Parkinson. You would never beat me at a game of intelligence."

"No," she conceded, bringing both her hands behind her back, "but what about brute strength?" And Hermione's face was bashed with a cushion. Giggling, Pansy didn't pay attention as a pillow hit her as well.

It was emotional (one way to describe it). It was full of tears, relief, weights, feathers and more. But it was worth it all. Hermione believed that she found her person: she finally had what Draco and Harry did and she didn't plan on letting it go anytime soon.
