Why am I stuck in this position? Draco asked himself, before he started walking.

He mouthed ‘I'm so sorry’ to Harry who  couldn’t look at him. Meanwhile, Pansy couldn’t stop glaring daggers. Whereas, Hermione didn’t look bothered: she smiled sadly at him, giving Draco a small wave that he returned.

“Blaise,” he nodded in greeting, hearing the rustle of paper as his hand stuffed something in his back pocket. “Care to tell me what’s in that letter?” Draco inclined his head to Blaise’s pocket.
“Shouldn’t you be with your boyfriend?” Spat Blaise, lazily messing with the small amount of food on his plate.
“I chose to sit with you.” He blandly stated the obvious, “So tell me what’s going on.”

“Fine.” Grimaced Blaise then looked around to see Pansy and Harry looking at them, “But not here.” He nodded towards the door. Briskly, they both stood and walked out, just around the corner from earshot.

Forceful, Zabini shoved the crumpled, tear-stained letter into Draco’s soft palm. As careful as you would be with a new born baby, Draco unfolded the parchment to not rip it. “Oh my Merlin,” Draco’s face ran with emotion before it turned back, “That’s why you said that about Granger: you were taking your anger out on her.” Draco understood, putting a comforting hand on his best friend’s shoulder.
“I-I cannot tell them... they know what that says,” he pointed to the parchment “And they’ll think of me differently! Either I am pitied or hated.” Retaliated Blaise, shrugging off Draco’s hand lightly.

Coming to a conclusion, Draco sighed, “All right, I won’t tell anyone. But the Order needs to know Blaise, encase they run into her and attack.” His voice was reasonable.
Blaise’s was robotic, “I will, just not anytime soon.” They walked to class, oblivious of the person standing just out of sight.

It was just after charms when Draco was walking out of the classroom with Blaise. They were last to leave the class, even after Flitwick. But just as he left the room, a firm grip grabbed his elbow and he panicked, shoving it back and hitting the person square on the nose. “Harry! You idiot!” he scolded while he  healed him. “Why didn’t you just ask me to talk you imbecile!” Draco wacked the back of Harry’s head with his palm.

“I ask you to talk? Draco, you are the one with Zabini after what he said about Hermione!” Harry accused, jabbing a finger into Draco’s chest.
The other boy’s face hardened like before fifth year but spoke in a calm tone, “He had a reason to.”
Harry huffed rolling his eyes, “What reason is there to call her such a term? What about his reputation!”

“That is none of your business, Potter,” Draco snapped with venom. He ignored Harry’s wince at his last name, “I don’t understand why you can’t just trust me. He had his reasons. I’m not condoning it was the right way to portray his anger but he did. So leave it alone.”

“Fuck you Black.” Harry spat. And without a second thought, Harry’s hands were on Draco’s chest, pushing him hard enough to send him to the floor his head hitting against the stone wall. The world stood still as Draco hit the floor. The blonde boy couldn’t believe Harry would do that. Sure, they’ve had physical fights before their relationship but Draco knew (at least he thought he did) the other boy would never lay a hand on him again. Quickly, Draco healed his head encase anything happened. It did: Draco brought his hand to the front, gazing transfixed at the palm smothered in red liquid. Barely a whisper, Draco muttered ‘Scorgify'. As the blood spiralled out of existence Draco watched it swirl.

Harry was just as shocked. He just pushed his boyfriend so hard he fell over... he just pushed his boyfriend! “I-I'm so sorry, I don’t- Didn’t mean-”
“Save it Potter.” He growled, slinging his bag over his shoulder, “Sleep in your own bed tonight.” He stormed down the corridor to potions. Leaving Harry alone, leaving a silent tear to run down both faces, leaving an inch of trust to fall away into nothingness.
