Sitting in a snow covered forest was far better then being in Godric Hollow. I froze when we were there, I didn't even get out my wand. I froze when I heard the hissing... no, I froze because I still understood the hissing. It only reminded me of second year, and I hated that.
I stare at my wand while Hermione read across from me. She was quick on her feet, and brave. A brilliant Gryffindor. Walking grabs my attention as Harry exits the tent. "Are you feeling any better?" I ask him once he reached us, gaining Hermione's attention.
He barely nods as he looks around, at the forest Hermione had brought us to. "You've outdone yourself this time, Hermione." he tells her, as he walks over and takes a seat next to me.
"The Forest of Dean. I came here once with my mum and dad, years ago. It's just how I remember it. The trees. The river. It's like nothing's changed. Not true, of course. Everything's changed. If I brought my parents here, they wouldn't recognize any of it. Not the trees. Not the river. Not even me." she tells us, I look at her sadly. She obviously misses her parents, but shes protecting them.
She sighs, "Maybe we should just stay here. Grow old." she says to us. I give her a sad smile, what a nice thought. No more fighting. Just moving on.
I sigh as well, looking towards Harry, "You wanted to know who the boy in the photograph was. Well, I know. Hermione probably knows more than me. But I know his name." I tell him, gaining his attention. "His name is Gellert Grindelwald. A dark wizard. He did many things around Europe and a bit in America." I explain what I knew, then look over to Hermione for her to continue, she always knows more.
She hands Harry the book she was reading, and he flips through the book stopping on a chapter with his name on it, flipping a page, showing a picture of him as a young man. "This is the theif I saw in Gregorovitch wand shop. Speaking of which, where is my wand?" Harry asks Hermione as he flips another page.
I look at her when she doesn't respond, she looks at Harry guiltily. "Where is my wand Hermione?" Harry asks her again.
She shifts, lifting up her blanket, showing Harry his broken wand, "It's my fault. As we were leaving Godric's Hollow, I cast a curse and it rebounded... I'm sorry, Harry, I tried to mend it but wands are different.." Hermione explains.
Harry stands, "Leave me yours. You get back in the warm. Leave the locket as well." Harry tells her. He looks to me, "You too. Get some rest." he instructs. We listen as Hermione and I go inside.
---------------------
"Rose! Hermione!" Harry's faint voice, wakes me up. I sit up confused, I look towards Hermione and she looks just as confused as me.
We get up and go outside where Harry's voice came from. "Is everything alright?" she asks Harry, as I zip up my jacket.
"It's fine. Actually, more than fine." he tells us as we walk over to him, only to see Ron a little ways behind him.
"Hey." he greets us, smiling. I just stare, shocked.
Hermione makes her way towards him, shocking him when she reaches him. "You -- complete -- arse -- Ronald -- Weasley!" she tells him, hitting him, throwing leaves at him, " You crawl back here after all these weeks and say, 'Hey?'" she continues, hitting him with his own bag.
This causes me to smile, she turns around and starts to walk towards Harry, quiet angrily, "Where's my wand? Harry, where's my wand!" she asks him.
Harry backs away, "Um... I don't know?" he tells her.
She quickens her pace at him, "Harry Potter, you give me my wand!" she says to him, making him back into a tree to get away from her.
"How come he's got your wand?" Ron asks confused, causing Hermione to look back towards him.
"Nevermind why he has my wand! What is that?" she questions, walking back towards Ron.
I follow, curious on what he has. Ron holds up the locket, that was now opened. "You destroyed it?" I question in disbelief. Ron nods.
"And exactly how is it you have the Sword of Gryffindor?" Hermione questions, still sounding angry.
"It's a long story." Harry says, explaining nothing.
"Don't think this changes anything." Hermione says towards Ron, moving to go back to the tent.
"No, of course not. I only destroyed a bloody Horcrux! Why would that change anything!" Ron says to her, causing her to stop and look back. "Look, I wanted to come back the minute I'd left. I just... didn't know how to find you." he admits to us.
"Yeah, how did you find us?" Harry asks, now confused.
"With this." Ron says, reaching into his pocket, pulling out his Deluminator. "It doesn't just turn off lights. I don't know exactly how it works, but Christmas morning I-I was staying in this little pub. I'd given some Snatchers the slip the night before, I was sleeping when I heard it..." Ron was explaining, sort of.
"It?" I question what he was referring to.
"A voice." Ron explains more. "Your voice, Hermione. Coming out of this." he says.
"And what exactly did I say may I ask?" Hermione asks, crossing her arms.
"My name. Just my name. Like a whisper. So I took this and I clicked it and this tiny ball of light appeared. And I knew." Ron tells us. "And sure enough, it floated toward me, the ball of light, right to my chest and then -- went straight through -- right here." He explains, pointing near his heart. "So I Disapparated and came out on this hillside. It was dark. I didn't have any idea where I was. I just had to hope one of you would show yourselves in the end. And you did." he continues looking at Hermione meaningfully.
