Note: This chapter we get a hint of Elia's backstory.
3 days later
"That was a long day." Elia sighed as she closed the doors to her dorms. She saw that Seraphina was fast asleep in the couch.
Elia went to her room. From underneath her bed, she pulled out the wooden case and unlocked it. She grabbed the lighting excalibur but put it aside. In the edge of the wooden box was a hole. It was a keyhole.
Elia pulled out a necklace that was hidden beneath her clothes. The necklace was holding a key. She inserted key into the keyhole.
Click.
She pulled the bottom part of the wooden case. There was a hidden compartment beneath the wooden case. It stored a book. The book cover was in a mess, with blotches and scratches. The most noticable being the large red spot in the bottom part.
Unordinary. It was printed on the book cover.
Elia's eyes softened upon seeing the book. She had already read the book many times but she still flipped it open. She smiled.
"Lia, i want to show you something."
"Hmm?"
"This is my favourite book. You must remember to never tell anyone that you saw it."
Elia opened her eyes. Tears were spilling out from both her eyes. She was crying uncontrollably. She hugged the book tightly and gradually drifted off to sleep.Elia woke up with puffy eyes. She had fallen asleep without changing.
"Something's missing." She thought. She looked around to hide away her sword and book. When she looked around, she couldn't find the book anywhere.
She started throwing her covers and pillows around, rummaging to find the book.
"Where is it?" She cried. She looked through every corner of her room.
"It's gone. It's gone." Elia collapsed onto the floor, tears dripping onto the floor.
The door of the room creaked open, leaving it slightly open with a tiny gap. It revealed a figure that stood in the doorway."What the hell?" Isen said when he read the headline on the school newspaper.
"Students Cause Bomb Threat at Kovoro Mall" it printed boldly.
"Remi, Blyke, Isen, Elia. Please report to the main office." The loudspeaker announced."Where's Elia?" Remi asked. It has been 10 minutes since the announcment. Even if Elia was in the toilet, she would've heard the announcement.
"Did she ignore it?" Isen suggested.
"No way." Blyke said.
"I'm sure you know why I called you here." The headmaster entered his office.
"Where's the other one?" The headmaster asked.
"She's not here sir." Remi replied.
The headmaster sighed. "Tell her to come see me later."
"He's not mad?" Blyke, Isen and Remi looked at each other."I can't believe Elia skipped the headmaster's summons." Isen said.
"Yeah, the headmaster's attitude though. He wasn't even mad at Elia skipping, it was like he expected it." Blyke said.
"Lol yeah, I'm hungry you wanna grab a bite."
"Sure. I'll text Elia to come along with us."
"Fine by me."
While Isen and Blyke were conversing, Remi remained silent, deep in her thought.
"The event happened 2 days ago, on a weekend. How could someone in our school get the news so quickly. Could it be?" Remi's expression morphed. "Someone's tailing us?"
"Remi, you coming?
"Uhh yeah." Remi snapped out of her thought.
