The summer road trip

(Chapter 17) That should be me.

Two years later.

"I was wondering when you'd get here." I said then hoped off my bed, and started kissing Noah passionately. "I would've got here sooner but, I had to get my baby something." Noah said then held up a tiny box, and opened it to reveal a purple and silver butterfly bracelet. "It's beautiful, thank you babe." I said then slid it on, "happy
birthday Leilani." Noah said then started kissing me, then before I knew it we tumbled into my bed.

Then he trailed his fingers up my shirt and slid it off delicately. And started kissing me again and again, each kiss growing more and more passionate. Then I slid his shirt off, "damn still can't believe you're mine." I said then giggled while Noah stared into my eyes. "I can't believe you're mine, you're absolutely perfect in every way." He said then kissed me deeply.

"SURPRISE!!!" My mother, brother, Mrs. Kelly, Mr. Mohammad, Landen, And Brayden. All shouted while they blew party horns, and threw confetti. I've never been more embarrassed in my whole life, me and Noah are both under the blanket without a shirt on.  For him it's not that bad, but I don't want to be in front of my family and ex without a top on!

"Guys it's so good to see you!" I said then forced an awkward smile. "Well come over here and give your mom a hug!" My mother said then held her hands out. "I..I think we embarrassed Leilani enough for one day. Why don't we head to the restaurant we're gonna eat at, and give her time to freshen up?" Brayden said then laughed nervously, I don't know why he did what he did. But i'm so thankful for it, I don't know what i'd have to do if I had to get up.

"Alright I'll text you the address baby, wear something nice ok?" My mom said then they all walked out of the room, Brayden glanced at me one last time before he closed the door. "So where were we?" Noah said then moved his body closer to mine. "We should whet ready for the lunch, you know?" I said then hoped out the bed and quickly slid my shirt on. "Did I do something wrong?" Noah said then sat up, while I rummaged through my closet for something to wear.

"No,no I just really need to get dress, you should too." I said then smiled, "whatever." Noah said then grabbed his shirt the left the room. I don't know why but when Brayden halves back at me one more time, I felt bad. Like I don't know why but I did, like I was betraying him. He just looked really hurt, maybe I moved on to fast or I...i don't know.

Twenty minutes later at the restaurant.

"There the birthday girl is!" Mrs. Kelly said then smiled at me. "You look very beautiful, that dress is so cute!" My mom said then I sat down. "She does look very beautiful," Noah said then kissed me. "So how long has it been, since you guys started dating ?" Landen said then raised his eyebrow. "We're going on one year next week." Noah said then I forced a smile. "I literally told you that last week on facetime Landen." I said,

"I probably couldn't hear you, with that raggedy ass iphone x. You need the newest one, I don't know why you don't get it. Mom literally she'd pay for it, maybe if you get it you'll be cool like me." Landen said, "As if she wants to be anything like your ugly bitch ass." Colton said then rolled his eyes. "Language Colt!" Karan said , then Colton rolled his eyes. 

"Yeah watch you tone mister, before I take your phone." Landen said mocking Karan's accent. "Shut the fuck up Landen, you just mad cause I have a dad and you don't." Colton said then Brayden kicked his leg really hard. "Take a look in the mirror, that's the reason your real one left." Landen said then scoffed. "Boys that is enough! I don't know what's gotten into you guys, you guys are best friends!" Mrs. Kelly said, "We were best friends mom!" Colton shouted then my moms stood up and slammed her hand down on the table.

"THATS ENOUGH! Colton, and Landen, you two should be ashamed of yourselves. Today is Leilani's birthday I just wanted a nice lunch for her. So please set aside the bickering or I'll make you." My mom said then sat down, then took a sip of her juice. "You guys kind of remind me of my family !" Noah said then laughed, "So they're crazy and dysfunctional?" I said, "Something like that, except it's more complicated." Noah said then forced a laugh,

Noah barley ever talks about his family like at all. All I know is he has a mom, a dad, and a sister. Both his parents work a lot and his sister ran away with her boyfriend. Other than that he never talks about them like at all. "So Noah we didn't really get the chance to talk, since the last time you and Leilani visited. But tell me about your family again, will you?" My mom said, I could tell he got a tad uncomfortable. I tried to signal my mom with my eyes to tell her to stop but she was oblivious.

"There's not much to it my parents are never there, my sister ran away with her boyfriend." Noah said then forced a smile. "I thought you said your family was complicated?" Brayden said then raised his eyebrow. That's like the most he's said this whole time, other than that he's been really quiet. "It is complicated, I just don't feel like getting into all that." Noah said then took a sip of his water.

"Hey why don't you open your present from us?" Kelly said then smiled, "No, no she's gonna open them tonight. I booked us all reservations for that restaurant, I forgot the name of it." My mom said, "It's called Kai Restaurant, it's supposedly one of the best restaurants in the world." Landens said, "Sounds nice, thank you all for this amazing lunch. Unfortunately I have to finish up a writing assignment, but I'll see you all tonight." I said then grabbed my bag.

"Typical Leilani doing school on her birthday!" Landen said, "Typical Landen, always  running his damn mouth." Colton said then Brayden nudged him. "Alright bye sweetie we'll see you later at eight o clock, I'll text you the address." My mom said then Noah held my hand, and we both walked out the restaurant.

Braydens pov

I know Leilani has moved on, but I don't know why I can't. I was the one who ruined our realationship, I would still be with her if I didn't cheat. "Give me my phone idiot!" Colton shouted then wrestled Landen. "Colton stop! What the hell has gotten into you lately?" I whispered, "Can we talk? Outside please," Colton said. I don't know why but out of nowhere he got all sad and shit. He's never really like this, so whatever is it is it must be important.

"Before I say anything J just want to tell you how sorry I am! And I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, I just couldn't." Colton said, then hugged me tightly. "T...T...Tell me what?" I said then Sat on one of the seats outside. "The real reason behind you and Leilani's breakup. The reason you broke up was because of me and Landen. He told me that you were cheated on her, and that he didn't want her heart getting broken again. So I believed him because I thought he was my friend. But he was lying but I didn't know.

And then behind my back he went and paid Mariana to d..drug you and sleep with you. So you and Leilani can break up, and then he beat me up when I threaten to tell. A..and then he threatened to tell you and mom that I..I was gay. I..i'm not I just thought I was for a little bit, it was just a phase though. But he did all that because he likes me and he wanted us to be together. But he said you guys couldn't be dating or that would be weird. I know this all sounds crazy and fake, but I swear it's not. And i'm so so sorry I didn't say anything, I was scared of what he'd do.

Because that night he told me I saw this side of him, that i've never seen before. It wasn't the Landen I've known for seventeen years." Colton said, It all makes sense now. I just can't believe it, that Landen did all that. "Wow." I said then buried my face in my hands. "You can't tell Leilani please, it'll break her. She'll feel really bad and s..she's finally happy, so please don't ruin things for her." Landen said, "I won't I promise." I replied, "also you still haven't gotten her a gift. So you might want to get on with that." Landen said then got up from his seat.

I don't know how to feel right now, I could've still be with Leilani. If it wasn't for Landen and his twisted fantasy. That would've been me walking out of the restaurant holding Leilani's hand. Not Noah, it would've been me about to hit two years of being with her. But it's not all because of Landen.
