Meanwhile in room one, Kathryn and Lucia were put in a nice large common room where three boys were playing games on a small TV. One of the boys noticed both of them and paused the game. A boy with long black hair that swept over his eyes stood up and looked at the girls. The blond boy looked over at the girls but went back to playing the videogames. The silver haired boy didn't even glance at them. "Hey," The dark haired boy greeted his blue eyes shining. "Hi," Kathryn said as she felt blood rush to her cheeks. There was an awkward silence that made them both smile faintly. "My name is William Herondale, but you can call me Will." he said. "I'm Kathryn Franklin and this is Lucia Gonzales." Kathryn smiled. "These are my idiotic brothers. Be gentlemen and introduce yourselves," Will hissed slightly.
"These are my idiotic brothers. Be gentlemen and introduce yourselves," Will hissed slightly. A muscular blonde boy rose out of his seat and stuck out his hand. "Name's Jace..." he gruffed. "Nice to meet you." Lucia said. The other didn't get up or so much as move. He had light silvery hair and wore glasses over his light blue eyes that were almost gray. They varied from both his brother's deep blue eyes. "Get up you fool." Will said. "Don't," the boy said, "call me that." "I-It's fine. He doesn't have to get up or anything." Kathryn insisted. "Yes, but it's polite..." Will said. "Yeah, but considering where we are and what happened to us, I don't think being polite to every person we meet will get us out of here, Will." The boy said. "Jem," "Just leave me alone, Will..." he said. "Anyways..." Lucia started. "Sorry..." Will muttered, "We don't usually meet new people and you two are the only girls here besides Selene." "Who's that?" Kathryn asked. "Oh, she's in room five with her brother Jason." "That's where Paul is..." Lucia said. "Is he another one of your friends?" Lucia nodded.
"Exactly how many of your friends came here?" Will asked. "Well, we did have eight..." Kathryn said quietly. "Our friend Kasi died..." Lucia finished. "I'm so sorry. We lost our younger sister as well..." Will said. "I'm sorry." Everyone was silent for a while. "So, what's your gift?" Will asked both of them. "You see this as a gift?" Kathryn asked softly. "Of course, despite the situation I believe what we can do is a gift," Will replied smiling. "I can read people's mind and also move things with my mind." Kathryn said. "A telepath? They made a telepath?" Jace asked no one in particular. "What about you?" Will asked Lucia. "I get visions of the future." she replied. The brothers looked at each other. "Is something wrong?" Kathryn asked. "Well something isn't right, that's for sure." Will replied. "We need to talk to Jason about this." Jem said taking off his glasses and cleaning them off. "When we meet for lunch we will. Look, you two don't worry and we will explain later. For now you should rest for the remainder of the morning." Will said, motioning them towards a fairly large couch on the other side of the room. "Okay," they both agreed.
Meanwhile in room two, Rachel, Morgen, and Alyssa were placed in a similar room as room one. They sat together on a couch and tried to calm each other down. "Rachel, is there a special word that will get us out of here?" Alyssa asked. "Not that I know of. I only know the meaning of two words which makes either fire or wind." Rachel said. "Try something out." Morgen suggested. "But what about what Lucia said about using those words?" "Rachel, just do it please." Alyssa begged. Rachel sighed. A word in her notepad seemed to stand out so she said it. "Diil." she whispered. Nothing happened. She grabbed her pen and scratched it out of her notes as she tried to ignore the faint laughter she heard inside her head.
Deep inside the structure of where they were kept, under the whole place was the morgue. It's where they kept their failed experiments and the bodies of the teens filled the boxes. It was cold and damp in the morgue and only the buzzing of machines in nearby rooms filled the room. Kasi and many others were in the morgue encased in the boxes. At first, it was just the buzzing. Then a soft whisper echoed through the room. "Diil" Then there tapping. Soft tapping came from one of the boxes. Tap, tap, tap. "Help..." a voice cut through taps. Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap. "Help me..." it said again. Silence filled the room again and only the haunting whisper of the dead could be heard. Slowly, a door opened on one of the boxes and a cold hand emerged out. "Freedom. Light." It rasped. Out from the metal box, Kasi emerged. When she finally got out completely, she gasped for fresh air. Then she heard more tapping around her. "Free, free, free!" they chanted. Confused Kasi opened a door and a body fell out. Kasi shrieked at it got up. "Thank you so much. My angel, my angel..." it said. The body was of a teenage boy. His face was pale and almost a gray color, while he wore the same jumpsuit Kasi wore except his has three long tears along his chest. He looked to Kasi with dull blue eyes. Kasi looked down at her body and saw that her jumpsuit was covered in blood and that her skin has also grown pale. Remembering what happened last night Kasi slowly put her hand on her head. She almost screamed when she felt the deep cut on her scalp from when she hit the table. She looked up at the boy beside her who had pulled himself to his feet. Then she heard more tapping from the metal boxes. "Should I help them too?" she asked the boy afraid. "Please, my angel. They need you..." he said, slowly getting to his feet. Kasi opened five doors, and then the tapping stopped. "Angel. Angel..." "Who are all of you? Why are we in a morgue?" she asked, entirely confused. The ugly bodies said nothing, only titled their heads confused. "They don't understand you, my angel." the boy said messing with a strand of Kasi's hair.
