As they were loading the carrier plane for their flight to Russia, Whitney grabbed her glider, which she made in the months she spent in her room, when Logan, her guard, came over. Over the last months Whitney got her guard to really open up to her. With him as the only person to talk to they had no choice but to get to know each other. Despite his position in the lab Whitney learned that Mia was in fact Logan's aunt. After his parents died she took him in and gave him a job at the lab that he couldn't turn down. Whitney enjoyed listening to him talk about his life as he enjoyed getting to watch her discover her powers. Whitney really like him and had a feeling that he liked her too, however Whitney was afraid to tell him. If things went wrong in Russia then none of it would matter. And if things went right she would never get to see her friends again. "How are you feeling?" he asked gently. "To be honest, I'm really scared," she said. "Are you sure you should be going with us?" Whitney asked. "Of course! I have to keep an eye on you don't I?" he replied. Whitney nodded sadly. "We'll be fine," he whispered taking her hand. Whitney jumped slightly at the gesture but squeezed his hand lightly. They both walked together to the plane and saw everyone together for the first time. They were all wearing black suits suited with belts designed exactly for them. For example, Whitney's contained a water pouch so she was in easy access of and fire. It was weird for Whitney to see them all again. Even though it had only been a few months everyone looked different. They didn't look like the same teenagers that were taken from the movie theater. They almost looked like adults. Their faces seemed older and more refined. They looked like soldiers waiting to die. "Whitney! We haven't seen you in forever! Come sit by us," Morgen patted the seat next her and Jace. Whitney glanced around. "Where's Kasi?" she asked alarmed. "Don't worry. Her and Tyler are on another plane with all of her friends." Kathryn explained. "Oh okay," Whitney nodded and sat down next Morgen. "Glad to see you in one piece," Jason said. "I told you she would be alright didn't I?" Paul asked. Jason rolled his eyes. "Is there something I should know about here?" Whitney asked. "Well, you are the only one they kept in solitary. We all have been able to see each other at least once a day. We thought they killed you," said Jem who was sitting by Alyssa. "What? I thought we all were in solitary, but the rest of you with partners... why was I alone?" Whitney asked shocked. "Oh none of that matters!" entered Mia from the cockpit. "We are about to leave for Moscow, I suggest you all take your seats," she said as she returned to her position. "Ugh fine." Whitney said exasperated. She took another look around and noticed that all of her friends seemed to be taking a "liking" to their assigned partners. "Wait, are you telling me that you all are dating your roommates?" Whitney laughed slightly. "Well when you put it like that it sounds creepy," Rachel replied looking at Jason. "Are you with that guard?" Alyssa whispered in Whitney's ear. "No, and his name is Logan," Whitney muttered. "Mmmhm sure!" Alyssa exclaimed. Logan grinned clearly overhearing. Mia walked back into the holding area also in a combat suit. "Are you fighting too?" Morgen asked. Mia nodded. "What will you do? Lecture them to death?" Jason asked. Mia ignored him. "Are all of you ready for departure?" she asked. "No, but let's just go," Jem said. "Lucia, will you go to the cockpit with me? I'll need your coordinates." "Sure," Lucia shrugged. Everyone sat on their seats and buckled themselves in. "I hate flying," said Will. He took hold of Kathryn's hand as the plane took off. "Lucia said the Russians are building up their forces in a cave just outside of Moscow," Rachel said. "I don't see how they expect to just fly into Russia without having some company on the way in," Paul argued. "Obviously we do if Lucia saw it," Jason said. "She also," Rachel continued, "said that there is some sort of machine in the cave that she suspects is the cause of the whole thing." "Yeah that is the plan, so?" Paul asked. "Do you think we're ready for this?" Rachel asked. "Of course we are. We've been working hard for months right? We have learned more about our powers every step of the way. We can do it," Will said.
