It was sunny outside that crisp summer morning. The location of where the funeral was taking place seemed almost perfect. Everyone was coming together after not seeing each other for years. Kasi sat in her wheelchair and closed her eyes, letting the wind hit her face gently. Tyler came out of their small cabin with cane slowly to his wife. He sat beside her in his chair. "They're all coming. My friends," she smiled. "I know my angel," Tyler said gently. "I've missed them," Kasi said. Suddenly cars started to pull into their ranch and pulled up to her house. Kathryn and Will came out of their vehicle with two teenage girls. Kathryn came to hug Kasi. "How have you been?" Kathryn asked. "Fine, just fine. Who are these two lovely ladies??" "Zahira and Alex. They're my twin daughters," Kathryn replied. "They're beautiful. How are you and Will?" she asked. "Oh we've been wonderful. We moved to New York not long after everything," Kathryn smiled. "Look, here comes Alyssa and Jem," Kasi trailed off. Will greeted his brother while Alyssa, Kasi, and Kathryn chatted. "How have you been? I haven't heard from you since you got that medical position in Dubai," Will smiled. "Sorry, the boys' 14th birthday just happened and we were a little busy planning it," Jem laughed. "I still can't believe we have twins that were born in the same year," Will laughed. "I know!" Jem laughed. "What are you two laughing about?" Jace asked behind them. "Hey!" they both greeted.

"Shh. I just got her asleep," Jace said holding a small girl in his arms. "Is this little Emily?" Will asked. Jace nodded. "She's like her father; stubborn." Morgen said. "I see she has wings," Jem pointed out. "She's also strong for a two year old," Morgen sighed. "She's beautiful," Will admired. "Thank you," Morgen smiled. "Look, there's Paul and Selene," Kathryn said. "Hey there," Paul greeted. "Where's Uncle Jason?" a small boy asked. "He should be coming soon darling. Go play with Uncle Jem's kids," Selene said. The little boy went to go play and he took three other girls with him. "What are their names?" Tyler asked. "Well, the boy is Paul Jr., we call him P.J., and his twin sister is Carwin. They're twelve. The eight year old is Iris and lastly Marybelle is our seven year old," Selene smiled. "The boy takes after you," Alyssa smiled at Paul. "I think that's Jason pulling up," Selene said. Jason parked his car and went over to the passenger side and helped out a pregnant Rachel. "Rachel!" Morgen went to give her a hug.

"What are you having?" Kasi asked. "We don't know," Jason sighed. "I can't exactly go to a doctor," Rachel said. "I wonder where Lucia is," Kathryn said. "Oh, there she is!" Morgen said. Lucia came up to the house with a man they've never met before. "Lucia!" Kathryn hugged her. "I've missed you," she smiled. Everyone looked at the man. "Oh sorry. This is Cameron. I met him two years ago in Galveston. He's one of the people we saved. We're getting married next month." she smiled. "Congratulations," everyone said. "Thanks," she smiled. "Is everyone here now?" Kasi asked. "Yes dear," Tyler replied. "Let's get this going," Kasi said. Everyone got silent. "Please follow me," Tyler said. He slowly got up and pushed Kasi in her wheelchair. They all went out into a small area that had two grave stones ready and one large coffin. The friends gathered around the grave and remained quiet. "As you all know, I asked you all to come here for a very important reason." Kasi began. "Tyler and I are deteriorating. Our bodies and minds are not working well. We want this; we don't want to hurt anymore. Although we are already dead we still feel pain, physically and emotionally. I myself have already lost control in the muscles in my legs and can no longer walk. Even Tyler is starting to lose his eye sight, and we're only thirty-five years old. Today we will fall into an everlasting sleep and we can be at rest and be happy with each other forever." Kasi held out her hand and Tyler took it. He helped her over to the grave and helped her inside. He too got inside the coffin and lay beside each other.

"You don't know how happy it makes me to leave after seeing all of you so happy. But now...I can go check on another one of our friends. Thank you, I'll miss you," Kasi teared up. "We'll miss you too," Kathryn said. Kasi took one last glance at her friends and their new lives. She smiled as Tyler closed their coffin. Paul grabbed the shovel and they each took a turn burying Kasi and Tyler. After everyone said their goodbyes they went back to Kasi's house where she had prepared a meal. While they ate they all talked to each other about their current lives. The children went to go play in the living room while the adults talked. "Maybe life can calm down for us now," Alyssa said. "No, I don't think so," Paul laughed softly. "Why do you say that?" she asked. "Them," he looked at the children playing in the living room. "I worry about their future every day," Paul said.

"I know how you feel," Morgen sighed rocking Emily. "I think we've all done a good job so far," Jace commented. "I hope so." They were all quiet and looked at their children. "I still haven't told Zahira and Alex the whole story of us. I don't know if I should. But they ask about their powers more every day and I just..." Kathryn sighed. "I think that when they need to know, you'll know," Lucia smiled. They all spent the rest of the day talking and catching up. At the end of the day they visited Kasi's grave then went home. "Daddy?" Marybelle asked Paul in the car going home. "Yes darling?" he replied sweetly. "Why are we different?" she asked. "Uh..." Paul looked at his wife. "We're superheroes, Marybelle!" Iris squeaked. "How did we become superheroes?" Marybelle asked. "Because Mom and Dad are so it runs in the family," Carwin explained. "How did you get powers, Daddy?" Marybelle asked. "Well honey, um, it's hard to explain but, um," Paul stuttered. "Go ahead," Selene smiled. "Well kids, when we were younger, just a few years older than P.J. and Carwin, me, Aunt Alyssa, Aunt Kathryn, Aunt Lucia, Aunt Rachel, Aunt Kasi, Aunt Morgen, and Aunt Whitney were taken by these bad people. They put us in these boxes and, well, gave us our "powers"." "So maybe they weren't bad. Maybe they wanted to make you special," Marybelle wondered. "No honey. You see, we were young and scared. They wanted us to fight these scary monsters all by ourselves." "Did you?" P.J. asked. "We didn't have another choice," Paul replied. "So what happened?" Iris asked. Paul explained to his children how everyone got special powers, but left out the gruesome parts, and how he met Selene and Uncle Jason. He gave very little detail about Russia but told them he was scared not only for himself but his friends as well. He told them how he saved Selene from the monsters of the dark. Finally he told them about Whitney sacrificing herself to make sure they would be safe. The children seemed interested in it all. "That's awesome," P.J. muttered.

"That's awesome," P.J. muttered. "What happened to the bad people?" Marybelle asked. "I'm not sure sweetie," Paul sighed. "We're safe though, right?" Carwin asked. "Of course you are!" Selene said. "I wouldn't let anything happen to you," Paul comforted.
