Alissa POV.
It was now morning and Dravin was gone. The bed felt empty without him next to me. I guess I should do something today. Although I wanted nothing more than to stay in bed. I suppose I should do something to keep my mind off of everything. I brushed my teeth quickly and decided to tackle the wardrobe department. I kept myself busy by going through all the clothes in Dravin's closet. I saw some pieces from the 20's and the 50's all the way to the 1600s to the 21st century. All the clothes were labeled what decade they were from so it was fairly easy to find something if I wanted. Which I liked. The theme for the wedding was black and white. I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll just pick what catches my eye. There was a huge section of clothes that looked fancy. Lots of choices to choose from. Beautiful dresses and dapper suits hung neatly on coat hangers in the glorious closet of Dravin. I decided that I was going to choose what everyone was going to wear instead of just me and Dravin. I hope they like what I choose. His closet was huge and surprisingly I found everyone's outfits except for my dress. I was kinda disappointed that I couldn't find anything I liked. I looked over every piece of clothing in the room. Or so I thought. A beautiful white gown caught my eye in the right corner of the room. It didn't have a year on it or a name, but it was the the most perfect dress for me. I absolutely loved it and I couldn't wait to wear it on my special day.
We have to go ring shopping too unless by some miracle he has a jewelry store in here too. There's a cabinet drawer below the clothes rack where I got everyone's outfits marked rings. In the drawer were tons of fancy rings, men's and women's of all eras neatly placed in rows of black satin ribbon. I'm not even surprised this is here. Everything in here is so elegant and perfect, Dravin must have wanted a black tie theme wedding for awhile, or he simply had all these things as a reminder of a past time in his life.
There were two rings that stood out to me. One solid black men's ring and one beautiful sparkly band for me.
"These are perfect for us." I said aloud knowing that no one could here me. My phone started to ring loudly and immediately I thought something was wrong. The caller ID said Mom.
"Hey mom, how are you." I said energetically.
"Hi sweetie, I just wanted to call and tell you that your father and I are coming home early, we should be there in about 3 days. We've been gone for too long and we miss our daughter." I felt bad that I had to send them away for their own safety. I felt like I was choosing Dravin's family over my parents.
"I miss you too mom, I can't wait to see you. Why are you coming home early? I thought you wouldn't be here till July?" I asked confused.
"I told you I miss my daughter and I need to help you plan the wedding. What kind of mother would I be if I wasn't there to help my baby plan her special day?" My heart sank. What will she say when she sees me? My belly.
"Right, I forgot about that, I've been preoccupied with other things. Of course you want to help me and of course I want your help." I tried to sound convincing. I had to try and fight back tears. I really miss her.
"What could be more important than planning a wedding?" She asked.
"Oh I......ummm." I stuttered.
"Alissa, what's going on? Why do you sound like you're hiding something from me?" Shit, she could always tell when something was up.
"I'm not I'm just.....I can't tell you over the phone." I sighed.
"This sounds serious are you alright? Do I need to call Dravin's parents?" I rolled my eyes.
"No mom, don't do that. I'm ok really, I just sort of have a surprise for you and dad and I don't want to spoil it." Which was partly true.
"Oh why didn't you say so? I won't pry then, can't wait to see you sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too mom, see you soon." I ended the call. I don't know how she's going to react to me being pregnant but I hope she's happy for us. I'm nervous now. I gathered all the clothes and put them on the bed so Dravin could see them when he got home. I can't stay in his room all day. My stomach growled in hunger. Maybe I should go get breakfast? I walked downstairs and was greeted by Ambrosia, surprisingly she smiled at me.
"Are you hungry?" She asked politely. I frowned.
"Yeah I'm starving, what's for breakfast?"
"Pancakes with strawberries and cream, bacon, and orange juice or coffee." Why is she being nice to me? Or even talking to me?
"That sounds perfect. Let's sit together." I said.
"Ok." She said surprised. I didn't think she'd agree. Now I'm really scared. We sat down at the dining room table.
"Where is everyone? Shouldn't they be eating?" I asked.
"Oh, they already ate." She said watching me.
"That's weird. Why didn't you eat?" I'm very confused as to why she's being this nice to me. And what's even scarier is that she can read my mind.
"I was waiting for you." I frowned in confusion. None if this was normal, it was very suspicious in fact. I pushed the thought from my mind since I was starving and didn't care about anything other than getting food in my body. I put a few pancakes on my plate and covered them in strawberries and cream, and poured myself a glass of orange juice. Ambrosia ate a couple of pieces of bacon and sipped her coffee watching me carefully, making sure I couldn't see her, but she wasn't very subtle and I knew she was in fact watching me. We were eating in silence and it was awkward. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Ok tell me. Where is everyone?" I asked.
"I can't tell you, it's a secret." She said while taking a strawberry and plopping it in her mouth.
"Is it good or bad? I don't like surprises."
"It's a good surprise don't worry. Eat your breakfast and then I'll show you."
"Ok, I'm done." I shoved my plate away from me.
"No, eat your pancakes. The baby needs food too." I sighed knowing she was right. I finished my pancakes with ease.
"Ok now I'm really done, show me the surprise." She rolled her eyes.
"Ok, come with me." She grabbed my arm and led me to wherever we were going. We walked down a long hallway, one I've never noticed before.
"Close your eyes." She said. I gave her a look that practically said "Really?"
"Just do it. Or you'll ruin the surprise."
"Fine." I closed my eyes.
"I heard a large wooden door open. She led me inside and had me stop.
"Ok, open." I opened my eyes and my mouth hung open at the site in front of me. I was in a ballroom. Huge crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling. This was probably the most normal room in the house.
