Cassie and Jason arrive at the office with Jason being visibly confused. Cassie notices the look on his face but she comforts him.
"I know being here might make you doubt what I'm trying to do... but trust me... I'm just trying to make it right. Whatever happens, in there, you know your worth and I know mine."
Cassie holds Jason's hand as they walk into the building. Everyone staring at them. Then Mr Holloway stands there eagerly waiting for them.
"There you are, you're late, you guys would be fired if it weren't for yesterday's success. Now never mind that, just get into that room, the press is waiting, Jason, do me proud boy.
Mr Holloway's eyes then shift to Cassie. Obviously, he has to give her something to do.
"You, girl, stand behind him."
Cassie opens her mouth to speak but Jason unexpectedly responds.
"I'm sorry sir but with all due respect. Actually, I have no respect for you. But you should listen anyway. But this was Cassie's project, this was her idea and I don't understand why you refuse to give her any recognition."
Mr Holloway's fuming but he is unable to show it... because the dozens of press are now all watching, listening and filming. But Cassie sees this as an opportunity.
"Yes Mr Holloway, I have done everything you could've wanted an employee to do and despite Michael's lies, Sir you know that I'm one of the most dedicated employees but I don't understand why you don't want me to go higher up in this company"-
"Because."
"I'm sorry sir we can't hear you."
"You're just a girl!"Oh no he did not just say that! The cameras keep filming, the office stops working. Cassie wishes she could be surprised but she's not, however, to hear the reason she was treated this way was that she was "just a girl" was slap in the face after the years of hard work. Now she only has one thing to do.
"That's right sir "I'm a girl" And because I'm a girl, you would rather trust a male idiot like Michael take charge to run things. You would be surprised to hear that he didn't complete any projects on his own, you know why? Because I did them, again and again hoping that would be seen by you. But obviously not. I'm sorry that me being "just a girl" is such an inconvenience to you but it's not my fault that you are an ignorant, greedy, sexist cow. This is your loss and not mine. Mr Holloway... start looking for a new employee, because you know what, I quit!"
Cassie turns around leaving behind speechless faces and Jason is frozen in awe. There's also something he has to do but first...
"Mr Holloway, if it isn't clear, I quit too."
Jason leaves and the press swarm around Mr Holloway bombarding him with questions that's he's too shocked to even answer. Jason joins Cassie but as they leave a familiar face appears and now ladies and gentlemen, is Jason's time to shine.
"Well, well, well, if it's little Cassie And Watts, Looks like you guys made up but Cassie you know you're better than this dweeb."
Jason gestures to Cassie that it's okay and he takes control of the situation.
"Who you calling dweeb... Michael."
Jason stand face to face with Michael and you wouldn't know this right now, but Michael is kinda scared. See in actuality, Jason is taller than him, significantly taller. It's an understatement to say Michael is intimidated... and I'm loving it.
"What did you just call me Watts? I thought I told you"-
"You take yourself really serious, don't you. Loosen up man, after all, when you go home, you take off your tie, your fancy suits, who are you. Behind the fake smile and charisma, you're nothing, especially when you come after other people just to make your life easier. I would doubt if you were even a man."Jason tightens Michael's tie.
"Still there's only hope, you'll get there... someday."
YES JASON! A dumbfounded Michael stands there with nothing to say almost shocked at what happened, while Cassie has something to do.
"Hey Michael, there's something I've forgotten to do, and it's been on my list for ages."
And with that Cassie slap Michael hard to the point where he doesn't know what planet he's on. Great.
Cassie and Jason walk outside where the sun has started to set."I can't believe we did that."
"Are you kidding me, Jason, you finally stood up to Michael, believe it!"
"We quit!... we quit? What's the plan now?"
"There are no plans, in fact, screw plans and lists and schedules and to hell with overtime at work!"Jason smiles at Cassie, seeing her this carefree makes him happy.
"No plans, no lists, no schedules and no overtime, wow you've changed."
"I think I'm starting to see it somebody else's way now."Jason blushes. *shrieking intensifies within*
"You know before we scrap all lists, there's one last thing on my list left to check off."
"And what's that"
"This."Jason takes Cassie by the waist and Kisses her. The sunlight shines only for them. There's no rain tonight and boy was this was a long time coming.
As there faces release, there eyes twinkle."I love you, Cassie."
"I love you, too."And there we have it, the opposites are now together. Well, that's my job done and accomplished, it's time for my vacation- what? You want to know what happened next. I guess my vacation can wait just a bit longer.
After Cassie and Jason quit their jobs, multiple people also quit their jobs. The press were crucifying Mr Holloway for his sexist comments, and before he lost too much money her sold the company to a ...female. Karma at its finest. As for Michael, well his new boss saw through him and guess who got demoted. In fact, he was put in charge of the project Cassie and Jason had worked on prior to this... the poor guy is finding it hard to adjust to his old office. Emily won the case against her college meaning she could go back and finish her finals and go to formal, she also received a hefty sum for compensation so that's pretty neat.
And as for our two opposites. They started a new business together, flying all over the world to countries like Singapore, France, England, Germany, you name it they went there to help as many people as they could. But that's not the part you want to know, travelling had it's perks, meaning they spent as much time as they wanted with each other and eventually after some time Jason even proposed.. and Cassie said yes.
And that's the story of our opposites, thank you for joining Cassie and Jason on this journey. After everything, I really do need a vacation now, bye and farewell!
