"That was so much fun!" Saige said to Kiara with a huge smile on her face as they pulled onto her street. It had been such a long time since she'd felt..wanted. Happy. Included.

They stayed out on John B's boat for hours on end and didn't leave until 5 that afternoon. She got to know all the guys and loved their carefree personalities. But, most of all, their love for each other is what she admired. They were a family, and Saige so desperately wanted to be part of that.

But, it could never happen. She knew that.

"See! There's more to life than Kook stuff." Kiara smiled back at her, turning into her driveway. Her smile quickly faded as she saw Rafe's car sitting there. "Oh, shit, Saige."

"No!" Saige exclaimed, "no, no, no, this is not good. This is not good."

Kiara tried calming her friend down. "Hey! You're gonna be okay, I promise you. Just tell him that we went out shopping for the day."

"In my bathing suit?" Saige rolled her eyes.

"Uh, tell him we went over to my cousin Abby's house to swim."

Saige agreed to that. She bid Kiara goodbye and promised to call later, took a deep breath and stepped out of the car. She walked up and opened the unlocked front door to see Rafe sitting in the living room, chatting with her parents and younger brother.

"Saige! There you are." Rafe gave her a big smile then stood up to hug her. She exhaled the breath she was holding and relaxed into his arms. Although Rafe was an ass, he gave the best hugs.

"Where have you been at, honey?" Her mom asked.

"I was with Kiara for the day." Saige replied.

"Thank you so much for having me, Mr. and Mrs. Evans, I had a great time. But, if you don't mind, I'd like to catch up with Saige for a bit upstairs." Rafe said to her parents. If it were any other boy in Saige's room her parents would throw a fit, but they loved and trusted Rafe.

"Sure! Thanks for coming over, Rafe." Her parents said back before heading outside, most likely to go hang out with Rafe's parents.

"Wanna go upstairs?" Rafe asked her, holding her hand and walking her to her room before she could reply. Rafe shut the door, facing it before taking a deep breath. He turned to Saige with a look in his eyes she couldn't read.

"So, you were with Kiara all day?" He asked.

"Uh, yeah! We went over to her cousins house to swim. You know, the one who lives a couple streets over."

"Right, right, that one. Anybody else there?" He asked her another question, slowly walking towards her. She could tell Rafe knew something was up.

"No, just her cousin Abby and her family. They were pretty cool." Saige slowly backed up before hitting the wall.

"Right. Saige, I'll be honest with you, something just isn't sitting right with me."

"What do you mean? Everything is fine-"

"No, it's not fine!" Rafe yelled before quickly calming himself down. He got right up in Saige's face and put his hands against the wall by her head.

"Tell me the truth, Saige. Where did you go today?" He asked one more time.

"Rafe, I told you where I was. I went to Abby's house with Kiara. That's it, I swear."

"Okay, Saige," before she knew it, he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her head towards his, "but if I find out you were somewhere that you weren't supposed to, it's gonna be bad news. Got it?"

"Yes sir." Saige said with tears in her eyes. She was tired of crying over Rafe but she couldn't help it, he scared her..

"Good," he smiled before letting go and holding her by the waist in a tight hug, "I love you, Saige, you know I do. I would do anything for you, you mean the world to me."

"I love you too, Rafe."

Saige woke up the next morning with a beating headache. She had called Kiara the night before to tell her about what happened with Rafe. Kiara was one of the only people she trusted, she knew she'd never tell anyone about her issues unless it got to a bad point. Of course Kiara was pissed and said she would murder Rafe the next time she saw him, but that could never happen.

The problem with Rafe was that he was the golden boy to her parents. He was the best actor when it came to them- if Saige were to tell them about last night, they'd laugh and say she was crazy. In fact, they told Saige that Rafe was the only good thing she had going for her.

You see, Saige was never 'good' enough for her parents. She had amazing grades and was a good athlete but, in their eyes, that didn't matter. She tended to be a rebel. All that mattered was that she'd be rich when she left home and Rafe was their best bet of that happening.

She didn't have much of a plan for the day so she figured going out on her families dock and basking in the sun was a good idea. She grabbed her phone and changed into a new swimsuit, lathered up in sunblock and walked out to the end of the dock. It was a beautiful 85 degree and sunny day outside that she had to take advantage of.

She'd been laying out on her towel for 30 minutes or so before hearing footsteps walking up to her. "Saige, hi! Mind if I lay out here with you?"

It was the voice of Sarah Cameron, Rafe's younger sister. They got along really well and she was one of the only good things about Rafe. The only problem was that Sarah and Kiara hated each other so they didn't hang out much.

"Yeah, sure, pull up a towel." She giggled. Sarah laid out next to her and they made small talk for a couple minutes before Sarah caught her by surprise.

"So, I know you've been hanging out with the Pogues." She said as she propped herself up on her forearm.

"Whoa, what? No I haven't, not unless you're talking about Kiara." Saige said in defense. If Sarah knew she'd hung out with the Pogues for a day then she'd tell Rafe.

"Oh, shut up! Kiara told me. I have a plan-"

"Wait, Kiara told you? Since when did you start talking to Kiara?" Saige asked in shofvΩ≈w2k.

"That's another story for another day. Anyways, I have a plan. Rafe doesn't want us hanging with the Pogues but he wants you and me to hang out more. So, what if we start 'hanging out' more and tell Rafe, but we secretly go hang with the Pogues?" Okay, not a bad idea.

"I mean yeah, that would be good.. but, I doubt the Pogues really want me around."

"Yeah, right! Kiara said JJ has been asking about you nonstop since you guys left yesterday. Which is super weird but whatever. And, I have been wanting to get to know John B more. It's a win-win!"

"John B? What happened to Topper?" Saige asked. Sarah rolled her eyes.

"Who cares, Topper isn't the boss of me. So, you in?"

'Yeah, I guess I'm in. When are we heading over there?"

"Right now. Let's go!"
