Saige was so glad that Rafe was out of her life, he was so demanding of her time and attention and she had hit her breaking point. It was time to move on.
Kiara asked Saige to meet her outside because they were going somewhere, so she went out and saw her sitting in her car with Pope in the passengers seat.
"Where are we going?" Saige asked when she closed the car door beside her and got buckled in.
"John B is stuck out on my dad's boat so he needs us to drive his boat over and pick him and Sarah up."
"Why are they out on your dads boat without you?" She asked as a puzzled look crossed her face.
"My dad got pissed at me and didn't want me helping with the groceries, so they went instead. Sarah went too to keep John B company." Pope replied.
The situation was weird to Saige but she still sat there quietly. Kie and Pope were talking and it seemed to Saige like Kie had finally given in to Pope's persistence about them being meant for each other- he had Kie's hand wrapped in his. Saige smiled.
They pulled up to the Chateau and got in John B's boat, then drove out to what felt like the middle of nowhere. There stood Sarah and John B watching for them. Pope threw John B the rope to tie the boat to their hook.
"Hey Saige, I left my bag inside. Can you go get it for me?" Sarah asked. Her and John B were already sitting down.. apparently they were too lazy to go get their own stuff, so Saige agreed.
She climbed up into the boat and walked into the small room but couldn't find any bags.
"Hey Sarah, I don't see it anywhere." Saige called out but there was no reply.
"Sarah? John B?" She called again. There was still no reply, so she walked out onto the deck and saw that all of her friends were slowly driving the boat away.
"Look in that compartment underneath you!" Pope yelled out and laughed with everyone else. She opened the compartment and saw... JJ. Her heart stopped.
"What the hell?" They said in unison. JJ climbed out and started yelling at the teens who were almost out of sight.
"Get back here!" There was no reply. Their friends were gone. JJ ran over to the steering wheel but the keys weren't inside.
"Shit, they took the keys. We're stuck here."
"Well looky there, your actions finally have consequences. That's karma, bitch." Saige said hatefully.
"Shut up, you don't know what you're talking about!" JJ argued. She let out an over-exaggerated groan and walked to the other side of the boat where there was a little bench. There was also a little bed area that was all fixed up...which meant that they would be staying there for the rest of the night.
"This is so stupid." Saige complained to herself. Sure, she missed JJ more than she could explain, but he hurt her. He played her and his intentions were wrong. There was nothing stable about the man and Saige couldn't let him back in her life... not like he wanted to be.
The sun was setting and dolphins were jumping out of the water. Saige always loved dolphins. She admired their free sprits and wanted to live with a free spirit as well, but she was too held down to Kook life. She thought about how in a way, dolphins and Pogues were similar.
They had been on the boat for a couple of hours and neither of them were talking to each other. JJ was smoking a blunt and staring off into the distance while Saige was doing a crossword puzzle in a book she found on the boat. She was getting hungry but was too stubborn to get up before JJ did.
