Enemy Lines-JJ

"Sarah, I think I'm gonna tell him I don't feel good. I can't do this." Saige confessed to her friend who was over at her house. She and JJ decided they'd hang out on John B's pier as long as the Pogues promised not to bug them- Saige would have invited him over since her family wouldn't be home for the night, but she couldn't risk JJ's loud bike catching Rafe's attention. She was one big ball of nerves and was on the verge of cancelling.

"Hell no, I'm not letting you cancel! We've worked too hard for this!" Sarah said dramatically.

Saige rolled her yes. "We? You act like we're going on some mission. We're just hanging out, I'm trying to be nice to the guy."

"Oh shut up, we both know what you really want. I give it an hour before you two are making out."

"Chill!" Saige slapped Sarah on the arm. "We are just friends. Nothing more. I have a boyfriend who just so happens to be your brother, Sarah."

"Who cares about him, this is about you and JJ! I can't wait to see what you name the baby."

"Oh my God, Sarah. I am so done with you. I'm leaving now." Sarah squealed with excitement and Saige laughed at her before they walked out to Saige's car. Sarah agreed to ride with her to keep her sane in the car and she would just hang out with John B, plus it helped to tell Rafe they were hanging out together again instead of Saige going out alone since Rafe didn't trust her. They made the fairly short drive to the Chateau and were met outside by John B and JJ. The sight of JJ caused Saige's heart to leap into her throat.

Sarah ran and jumped into John B's arms and gave him a kiss, while Saige just awkwardly walked up to JJ.

"Hey JJ, it's good to see you." Saige smiled at him.

"You too, you look stunning. Damn." JJ checked her out before pulling her in for a hug. It was awkward... but nice. His compliment made Saige feel good even though she wasn't dressed up- just had on a cute top and shorts.

"Watch out, big boy, this is just us hanging out." Saige warned.

"If you say so. Ready?" JJ asked. Saige said yes, so he led her to the very well-decorated fishing dock. It was lit up with candles and at the end was a table set for two. Saige was stunned.

"JJ, I don't know what to say..." Saige trailed off.

"Sorry if it's too much, Kiara said it's what you'd want so she came earlier and helped me set it up like this. If you don't like it we could always just go to McDonalds or something-" Saige cut him off by kissing his cheek, making him blush.

"I love it, JJ. It's beautiful." Saige was in awe of the beauty of the setup in front of her. She couldn't help but compare it to what Rafe hadn't done in the past for her. Had he taken her to pretty spots before? Sure, but he'd never gone through the trouble to set up a date spot by himself as beautifully as JJ did. She knew he was lying about Kiara helping him since she was busy at The Wreck all day, but she didn't mention it.

"Why thank you. Allow me to escort you to your seat, madam." JJ said in a posh accent. He walked Saige over to the table and pulled out her chair for her before sitting across from her. She noticed the empty plates in front of them, then John B walked up to them with a covered pan in his hand.

"For dinner is shrimp, compliments of The Wreck."

"Well thank you, John B. How lovely." Saige smiled him. The shrimp looked delicious and Saige couldn't wait to dig in.

"If you need anything else, just call." John B said before walking back to the Chateau. He looked quite cute- he wore his usual t shirt and shorts but had thrown on a bow tie for the somewhat-fancy occasion.

JJ and Saige both dug into their shrimp. The sun was setting and Saige noticed dolphins jumping off in the distance.

"I could sit here forever, JJ, this is gorgeous."

"I'm sure this is nothing compared to what you're used to with Rafe, though, huh?"

"Rafe would rather pay hundreds of dollars for someone else to set up something like this rather than doing it for himself. I'm really flattered by this, JJ. I mean it."

"Want to know something I've noticed about you?" JJ asked.

"What?"

"The more you talk about Rafe, the more miserable you sound. I don't get it why you're letting yourself live this way and don't just dump his ass."

"It's not that easy, JJ. I know you don't get it but it's complicated, I can't just dump Rafe and solve all my problems, it'd cause even more." 

JJ threw his hands up in defeat, signaling that he wasn't gonna talk about it anymore. Saige looked over at the Chateau and saw Sarah and John B watching the two of them like a hawk- but looked away when Saige saw them.

"We're being watched." Saige laughed to JJ.

"John B has been talking about this ever since you called, he was so nervous before you got here."

"Nervous? Why the hell was he nervous?" Saige asked.

"John B is weird like that, you learn to get used to it."

The two of them finished their food so they decided to take a stroll around outside of the Chateau. It was a beautiful night that they didn't want to go to waste. While the two spoke, JJ grabbed Saige's hand- she thought about pulling away from him but couldn't bring herself to it. Something about holding his hand ignited a fire in her soul.

"JJ, what made you call earlier?" The question had been burning a hole in her mind.

"Do you want the truth?" JJ asked.

"Yeah."

"I want you to break up with Rafe."

"What?" Saige let go of JJ'S hand and turned to face him. "Break up with Rafe? You're joking, right?"

"Saige, you've been on my mind since the moment I met you. From the second I wake up to the second I fall asleep I think about you, it's always you. It fucking kills me knowing you're with someone who doesn't appreciate you like I would, I can't stand for it anymore. I need you." JJ had his hands against Saige's cheeks, staring her dead in the eyes with so much intensity that she shivered.

He leaned in and kissed her without a second thought.

Saige was caught up in the moment and kissed back fiercely, wrapping her arms around his neck. He picked her up and pushed her up onto the side of the chateau so he could feel her closer to him.

Saige realized what was going on and pulled away from his lips.

"JJ, we can't do this.'

'Saige, come on. You can't tell me you didn't feel anything in that kiss!" JJ exclaimed, still keeping Saige pushed up against him.

"It doesn't matter, JJ, I have a boyfriend! Put me down!" Saige fought until JJ finally released her from his grip.

"Fine, I'll leave you alone. Just don't come crying to me when Rafe breaks your heart and you have nobody to turn to." JJ walked over to his bike.

"JJ, wait! Can we please talk?" Saige tried catching up to him, but he was already halfway down the road.
