As the six in our group walked towards the Great Hall, there was small talk through out us. "You okay? Nervous?" Jake wrapped his arm around my waist a little tighter, noting my unusual quietness. I looked up into his eyes and smiled as he kissed my nose "Yeah I'm fine, like you said nervous. I guess, the thing with Miranda really is distracting me."
He nodded with a solemn look on his face "Don't worry too much. Tonight's supposed to be fun! We're supposed to live while we're young!" I giggled when he started to sing 'Live While We're Young' by One Direction down the hall.
"Let's go!
Crazy, crazy, crazy,
till we see the sun
I know we only met,
but let's pretend it's love.
And never, never, never
stop for anyone
Tonight let's get some!
And Live While We're Young"
I started giggling again, his voice making the song even better than being sung by the five boys on the stairs. Finally, slowly making our way down the spiral staircase, we reached the doors to the Hall. Stepping inside, it was like we weren't even at the school anymore.
There were balloons, streamers, and glitter-- everywhere. I stopped to take it all in-- multi-color lights bouncing off the windows to be refracted onto the dance floor, with the normal tables gone, the room seemed larger, with more room than was needed. The make shift dance floor was covered with more people than I thought actually went to our school. After my eyes finally adjusted to the light, my ears to the music, and my heart stopped beating a million miles an hour, all I could mumbled was "Woah."
Nikki chuckled and replied "Woah indeed! Let's go dance, Wish! I mean, you are the dancer in this group." I blushed and shouted over the music "I may be a dancer, but I bet you I won't be any good out there." She just simply rolled her eyes and grabbed my wrist, causing a chain reaction between the six of us, all dragging each other out onto the dance floor.
Nikki pulled us through the dense pack of hot, sweaty bodies, right into the center of the dance floor. Immediately dropping my arm and lifting hers up to the ceiling, she started swaying her hips. "Come on you guys! When will this chance happen to us again?" I chuckled and mimicked her movements, letting the music take over.
A few songs later, I felt Jake grab my hand and twirl me around to face him. Pulling me in close, his arms slowly wrapped around my waist, as mine wound around his neck. "You know what this reminds me of?" he whispered, or yelled into my ear over the music. I knew what he meant but I wanted to hear it in his voice. "I haven't a clue" I screamed.
"Liar! Oh well, I'll tell you. It reminds me of the abandoned class room. When I first kissed you. Best choice of my life." he shouted to me. I remembered it to, him throwing me over his shoulder, taking me to the room. I looked up at him and smiled, then moving onto my tip toes to kiss him again. "Like that?" I said, breaking away.
*********
Two songs later, the DJ called for a 'dance-off'. Nikki and Taylor suddenly appeared by my side "You have to go and try!" Taylor screamed.
"No thanks!" I shouted back.
"Please Wish!" Nikki hollered.
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"If I say I might, then will you shut up?"
