Sycamore

"So your willing to allow 2,000 immigrants into Kalos in exchange for an alliance?"

Sycamore sighed. "Yes"

"Hmm I guess we shouldn't have looked over Kalos as a ally. Congratulations Augustine you have an alliance with Unova"

Sycamore smiled. Kalos was no longer at risk of war. They just needed to deal with the problems on the inside now. Maybe they could finally set up parliament again.

???

"Did you hear master? It seems that annoying king has formed an alliance"

"Hmm I never thought he could. I guess I underestimated that prat. This complicates matters"

"But we'll still be able to move forward with matters won't we master"

"Oh yes Francis. Though he has an alliance. Augustine Sycamore is still the naive little Prince he was when his father was alive"

Sycamore

Everyone had already heard. Their king had made a alliance. Kalos would be a slightly better place just with 2,000 more immigrants. Everyone was grateful for the alliance just not the figure for immigrants. They were all due to flock to Luminose city. A big city with lots of unemployment. No one wanted to work there. Kalos already had a low unemployment rate. They'd just have to deal with it.

Gary

Reading through other people's things was a skill Gary knew very well. He used to read through his sister's diary and that got him scolded more times than once. But royal documents intrigued him too much for him not to read. It wasn't some bull shit about boys his sister was in to. Gary had gathered a great deal of intel. The biggest problem with Kalos was the mass amount of people behind on their taxes. Because the local economy was behind. Because no one was buying Kalos grown goods. Because they weren't good enough quality. Because funds weren't being brought in from taxes. Phew it was a complex cycle but that was the easiest way to explain it. Hemley and Johans stood cautiously by him. Ever so slightly scooching away every time Gary became invested in a certain piece of text. They weren't meant to be in the office and yet they were forced by Gary's orders to be there.

Sycamore

Wrapping his head around Gary's explanation was laborious. Gary could rattle on for hours about politics while Sycamore lost interest within five minutes. Gary snapped his fingers. Sycamore shot up.

"We still on the same page?" Gary asked.

"Mm yeah" Sycamore replied lethargicly.

"You didn't listen to a word I just said did you?"

Sycamore hesitated. "No"

Gary ran his hand through his hair. The fibres tickled the crevice between each finger. "Ugh. To summarise we need to be harder on taxes make the penalty more serve"

"How?"

Gary stared at him. Sycamore was a man child. "Well put issue notices around towns. Stop produce from other regions coming in. And make farmers sell for less. Also on the records I noticed the military has pretty deep pockets right now, make them enforce the new law"

"Great I understood that"

Gary rolled his eyes. Hemley shot him a disapproving look.

"Thanks Gary I'll fill out the forms now"

Gary strolled out. He was quite chuffed with himself. Johans and Hemley were hot on his heels. "Your quite the little politician your highness" Johans was tall so keeping up with Gary's quick steps was effortless. Gary smirked "What can I say I'm just naturally good at everything I do"

???

"I see so the pompous brat is the brains of the operation. I'm not surprised Sycamore always was an idiot"

"Master do you require me for anything else?"

"No Francis we should send in Her"
