Ross

"Pick yourself up snot rag!"

Ross picked herself up the front of her uniform was covered in mud. The commander laughed. "Keep running snot rag you don't want to drag the rest of regiment down now would you?"

Ross ran. The back pack weighed heavy on her shoulders. She disappeared into the others. The commander had a Zebsrika so he could catch up to anyone. Good job it wasn't a Rapidash or it would be put out in this rain. They had to leave they're pokemon back at camp. The rain was thick and had no problem infiltrating the ground. Making the mud sloppy and hard to run on. There was barely any friction under Ross' boots. Another person slipped. The commander laughed. Ross hated him but she gritted teeth and continued. She loved her country and king but that only went so far like all words do.

Back at camp she stared at the rest of the privates they were all beat. The food was lousy. Then again they ate better than some civilians. The country thrived for a few and that was the 1%. Not much money was put in the army. But commander hard ass would still be cruel even if it was well funded.

---1 year later---

"Lieutenant Ross!"

She turned around a blonde man with a stupid haircut was running towards her. The polished floor and whitewashed walls made the blue uniforms very noticeable. He had a piece of paper in his hand. When he got there he was panting. (He probably had an office job. In the military it was very noticeable to determine those in the front line and those who aren't) "Lieutenant Ross?"

"Yes" Ross checked the marking on his uniform he was of equal rank.

He saluted. She saluted back. (Because they're equal)

He held his hand out. "Lieutenant Irwin"

She shook it. "Lieutenant Ro-"

He cut her off "I know who you are"

Everyone called themselves by their last names in the military. Ross hated her first name so using Ross was much better. "You have been transferred off the front line to work in the palace protecting his majesty with me"

Ross stared him she had always wanted to move up in the ranks. And no longer be front line infantry. "So us two will be inside the palace?"

Irwin nodded.

That day two life long friends were brought together the problem is you only know half of it.
