Chapter 19

"Thankyou Taehyung"

I smile, thanking Taehyung for walking me home, the sun setting down leaving an orange haze over the trees. Taehyung smiles, walking back towards his horse, I close the door behind me, smiling, walking down the hall and into the drawing room.

"I'm back Eomma"

I smile, sitting down next to her on the seat, Appa has gone back to his work so he wont be back until Saturday.

Standing up, I leave the room, walking up the stairs towards my room...

Taehyung

Walking through the empty halls, my stomach is full after dinner, I had to attend a meeting with the court before it, stressing me out.

I walk into the room I spend most evenings, the fire lit, the glowing orange flame brightening the room. I sit down in the leather armchair, opening the bottle of whiskey, pouring it into the glass, I stare down into the glass before taking a swig of it.

My thoughts are broken by one of the servants, without knocking they opened the door at lightning speed. I give them a serious look, they bow, apologising for barging in.

"Miss Y/n, her mother has reported her missing......"

My heart stops, I stand up, placing the glass down, walking over to them, they definitely know how I feel about her.

"Since when, get my horse ready, I need to go see her mother immediately"

I order, I storm out of the room and down the corridor with my servant and a guard.

I get on the horse, taking the reins, pulling them back, nodding at my servants before leaving with a guard into the village. 

It's cold but that didn't bother me, I handed the reins of my horse to the guard and walked to the front door, knocking twice, waiting for an answer, the door opened slightly, Y/n's mother peeking out. I gave her a friendly smile, she opened the door for me, letting me in.

I sat down on the seat in front of her, she offered me tea but I politely declined.

"when did you notice that she went missing?"  

I asked her, holding her hands to comfort her. She shrugged, taking out her handkerchief and patting her eyes dry.

"I went up to get her for dinner and she wasn't there, her window was wide open"

She explains that she went from there to the mayors office to alert him, the mayor told her to check the places that she normally goes, but she knew that Y/n would never sneak out to go somewhere she liked, and why would she exit through the window, there were no signs of her using rope or a ladder.

I go upstairs to her room to check, the blue moonlight flooding in through the window, the window wide open, inviting the chilly breeze. I walk towards the window, looking down, out of the window, there is no way she could have jumped from here...

I examined the floor noticing muck on it. I checked out the window again, noticing a patch of grass that had been ripped up, like this person had been boosted up to climb to the window.  

I excuse myself walking out of the house and to the back garden, my guard following me. I walk over to the ripped up patch of grass that I had seen from the window. I try to retrace the steps of whoever had been here, walking back from it.

"Your highness, I have found some black thread hanging from a bush, is it of any interest?"

  I nod, walking over to him, taking the thread in my hand, I give it back to the guard and continue searching. I still have hope of finding her, she couldn't of gone far, she is still in this kingdom, if not the next.
