"You've been getting her into trouble, haven't you?" Kenny Everett spun around in his chair to lean forward toward Freddie and Lucy sitting across from him.

"I've got a fair share of trouble to get into myself... but he's been getting me into some of his trouble, too..." Lucy glanced up at Freddie through flirtatious eyes, leaning into him.

"Oh do tell...?" Resting his chin on his hand, Kenny's tone persuaded her to elaborate and divulge.

"You'll have to have me back another time to hear all about that. This is all about Freddie's trouble today." When her eyes met his, Freddie squeezed her knee right where he knew it would tickle.

"I have to tell you how intrigued I was when I heard Freddie had something exclusive for me..." Kenny bumped his eyebrows in optimistic jest. "What've you got today for us? Have you got a taste of a new record?"

"Are you sure you really want to? Everyone else says you're not supposed to..."

"Well when you put it like that, what choice do I have really?" Kenny seized the record from Freddie's hand with a sly smile.

"The BBC won't play it—in fact, no one will play it.

"What's wrong with it?" Kenny squinted playfully and lowered his voice to a near whisper. "Is it cursed?"

"It is... It's six minutes long... Can you believe it?"

"Freddie Mercury, you madman," Kenny shook his head, smiling. "And what do you make of this Lucy? You think we'll get away with a crime like this and live to tell the tale?"

"I guess there's only one way to find out.." her audacious eyes keenly followed a path down to the record in his hand. "Play it."

"So there we are, and I thought... my god, here's the number one group in England just going to suffocate in a damn lift!"

Paul smiled while he watched Freddie mesmerize the entire party, accompanied close by Lucy, who had just finished her drink. Guests followed Freddie's every move with eager fascination, hanging onto his every word as a best seller.

With his attention set on Lucy, Paul approached her and handed her a drink as an offering to begin a conversation with her. "How are you getting on into all this, Lucy?"

Although she accepted the glass into her hand, she did not drink from it.

"He's so happy..." initially ignoring his original question, she couldn't hide the smile on her face that showed how completely charmed she was by Freddie's joy as she watched him. "He deserves this."

"Yeah... a lot of hard work had to go into this," Paul fixed his eyes on her and took another swig of his drink, and this did not go unnoticed by Lucy. "It's the music business..."

"It is..." Lucy's breath came slow and calm. "You're no stranger to hard work, are you?"

"Opportunities in management have been going well... And you're picking up the industry quite fast I can tell?"

"No stranger to hard work." Lucy nodded politely before setting the drink down, showing respect for his gesture while still conveying that she wasn't yet accepting drinks from strangers.
