One Orgaladhad*, we arrived. It was an evening full of star and moonlight. I got off my horse when my parents were already gone to Elrond. But I wandered around. It was a really beautiful place- even at this time of day, I could hear a heavenly sound of music of some elf playing the harp. "Feawen, tula sinome!*", called my mother and I came to a little room where my parents and Elrond were waiting for me. "Elen sila lumenn omentilmo*", I said as I bowed down before Elrond. "Dolia lle*. How are the stars singing to you, daughter of Elbereth?", he asked me, but he just had to look at my crown and he saw that now already three stones had faded away and turned into black. He grinned. "Thranduil of mirkwood and Lady Galadriel are on their way. Galadriel and Celeborn are sailing to Valinor soon with Mithrandir and me, but they wanted to meet you, child of Elbereth, and help you by heart." I had never expected that. Galadriel and Celeborn of Lórien and Thranduil of Mirkwood were all heartful and great elves. I had just heard stories of them- but I had never thought I would meet them sometime! Later Elrond showed my parents and me a room where we could say and gently said goodnight.
This night I had very weird dreams. I dreamed of the elves who where going to visit me soon. They were saying anything to me, but I somehow just saw there lips moving, but I heard no sound. And suddenly, I just saw a bright light and a voice who was telling me just one thing: "You have to let go. Your time is passing. LET GO." The scary voice repeated it over and over, getting louder and darker and more evil, as it seemed to me. And then, I woke up, full of sweat and with the strong feeling of fear that I had never felt before. Another gem had faded.
As I was in Rivendell, I learned that all elves I had ever met were very gentle- I mostly talked to elves of Rivendell, to compare our different cultures, but I got some really interesting experience. It was a way that I could forget my troubles for a short time. Everywhere I went, my parents were looking at me, looking worried as if I could collapse every moment. And it annoyed me. But I did not give it any attention.
"We all appreciate you and your family", and elf called Bánthoron told me. "You must have had to ride a long time from your home til sinomé." Smiling at me he waited for an answer. "Yes", I said insecurely. I had always been shy and did not know what to say so he went on instead. "You are like a reflexion of her, you know", Bánthoron said, staring straight into my eyes. "Umm.. thank you", I said. I had not known what else to say... I had never had very close friends, just everbody tended to like and love me. I had always desired for somebody I could open up to.
While I had been at Rivendell, I had already read a lot- and in one of the books, I found something important- something, that would maybe save me from dying. But I did not mention it to anyone because I did not want to be saved like this. But later it would play a role again.
Also, I found an interesting book about some elven minion called Límin- it was like a diary, I just did not know how it came to Rivendell. I found out that he had been a minion of Idiavas the grateful, the elvenqueen of Mirkwood, the wife of Thranduil; Límin had apparently been to Mirkwood with her because she was sent there for a possible marriage with Thranduil; it was kind of funny to read his diary; he seemed to have spied on both of them, and apparently, they did not like each other at the beginning, but turned out to be in love with each other after time. Límin, who had hidden behind trees or something when spying on the couple, had seen their first kiss and described it all in his diary. What a fool! But at least I now knew something about Thranduil, I was just afraid that I would break into laughter when I would see him because I knew how weird he could be... I spent days on reading his diary, and some of his mentions were really funny but foolish.
Weeks passed and some day when I had been reading in my room, Elrond came to my room. I stood up and bowed but he said that I should hurry because the other elves are here. The elves. I had almost forgotten about them. I was going to see them! But then I remembered the reason why and my face turned sad again. I changed my clothes and put on a long, shimmering sea blue gown with many sparkling dots on it. It was so long that I had to hold it a bit higher with my hands so I would not stumble. I was ready to face them.As I came to see them, I was standing at a place with a waterfall in the back and there was a little stair, just like three steps, to go down. I wore a dark cloak with a hood that veiled my eyes a bit. As I came to the place above the stairs and the black sky, I looked at them. I had to throw my hood back to see better and it revealed my face to them. Thranduil had not come, unfortunately; but I saw Galadriel, who was as breathtaking and beautiful as the stars. The stories had been true: her beauty could not be described in words. She was like a goddess. She wore a beautiful, long, sparkling white gown as white as her face, and she was smiling when she looked at me. So did a few other elves of Lórien who had come with her. My glance wandered from face to face when I suddenly stopped: My eyes had stopped as I saw an elf standing next to Celeborn, the lord of lórien; I was sure that it was the son of Thranduil, Legolas, whom I had already heard a lot about; about his bravery and his loyality towards his friends; he had always been kind of important to me, even if I had never seen him before. And now I was staring at him, realising how beautiful he was and that his inner values sort of became an aura; as I looked at him, I had some kind of feeling, that I did not know what it was at that moment; some feeling that let me forget my sadness and my problems totally.
As I went down, I bowed down right in front of Galadriel after the last stairstep. But surprisingly she said, in a dark voice: "You do not have to bow before us, child of Elbereth. We came to help you and now, we are going to try to help you as well as the stars want us to." I thanked her and Elrond, Celeborn and Galadriel went to a round outside- room, were they were discussing a long time. During that time, I had gone to Legolas and greeted him. I did not dare to talk much because I did not want to seem weird to him or something- I wanted him to like me.
He asked me how I would feel. His voice- just the beautiful sound of his voice was calming. The voice of an angel who was making me feel as if I was in a kind of trance. As I looked into his blue eyes, I did want to say something but I did not want to lie so I just looked down and got sad again when a tear rolled down my cheek. "We are going to find a solution for it", he said with his soft, calming voice. "I promise."*1= elvish thursday
