Running through the dark forest, I got tired very fast. We decided to stay at a place near the edge of the forest so we could sleep. When I woke up, the sun was rising. I leaned on a bole when I saw that Legolas was still watching out. "Have you not been sleeping?", I asked him. "No.", he answered as he came towards me and sat down in front of me, putting his bow away. "You know that I wont let anything happen to you." I shoke my head. "Why are you doing this for me?", I asked him. "Do you not know?", he said as he came even closer. Now, we were just inches away, our noses almost touching. It was such a sweet moment, showing our affection to each other. He gently put a strand of my light brown hair away from my face as he stared into my eyes. His eyes were so beautiful; filled with light and joy, and he was smiling at me. We were slowly coming even closer and our lips almost touched..

But suddenly, we heard a noise from a tree nearby. We looked at the direction it came from. Legolas stood up as did I. He immediately took his bow and pointed it. I saw something showing behind the tree- and then I realised. "Do not shoot, las!", I said loudly. I ran up to the tree, with a mixture of happiness, surprise and confuseness as I hugged my friend.

"Malli! I thought I would never see you again! We have not talked since a few hundred years!". Mallenas* looked at me as he wanted to answer as he saw Legolas coming to the tree. "Mallenas", he said. He surely knew him because he now must be a guard of Mirwood, but I had not seen my friend since my childhood. "Mellon!* I m so glad to see you again! But if you now live here, then you must know where Tauriel is! Does she live in Mirkwood too? I cannot wait to see her again!" Mallenas tried to calm me down. "Um, I... I will tell you later about her." I was so excited! I had not met Tauriel and Mallenas since a few thousand years, and I had immediately recognised my friend, but I was really excited about how Tauriel would look now, because the last time we had ran through the forests together, we had been little elves.

Legolas now came closer as he took my hand. "Who send you to the Woodland Realm?", Mallenas asked me. "And with which intention?" I thought. What should I say? I could not tell him the whole story, could I? "I am sick", I confessed him since I did not want to lie; he had been one of my best friends. "It has something to do with my mother. And Elrond said that King Thranduil would maybe find a way to help me." "To what reason?" I looked down as I tried to find words to explain. But I did not. So after a while Legolas went on. "She is dying, Mallenas", he said with a honest voice. "I need to get her to my father. I wont leave her until she is safe." Malli looked at him for a while and finally nodded when he helped us to find the way.
