After that night, it became a usual event for Kiawe to eat at Amethyst's place every Monday and Thursday, where he would attempt, and fail to beat her at Mario Kart. At first it was him just helping with the building process, then after the building was complete after about 3 weeks, he came over to stay with Amethyst and listen to her practice. It was then he learned of her alter-ego, and aside from the shock, he was impressed. He also asked for her to teach him Guitar, which he would never admit, he was happy that she agreed. The two had grown close, and while Kiawe was away at the trial site or at school, Amethyst began to help out at the ranch, something his family was grateful for.
"So you're telling me you don't sing most of the songs you make?" Kiawe asked, watching her typing out the music and lyrics. They were sitting in the small office of Amethyst's studio, which had finished a week prior ."Yep, I send them to my good friend Piers. He used to be one of the Galarian Gym leaders, and is really the only one I have been in contact with, other than occasionally his sister Marnie." He hums. "Interesting. Have you ever thought about going back to Galar?" She paused a moment before nodding and continuing to work. "I have, but I've always put it off. I know my brother will be angry at me for running off without giving him at least somewhat of a clue of where I was going. But if he wanted to know, he could have texted me more than the 3 times after I left. As for my friends, they haven't tried reaching out either. I guess that is what hurts the most, but I can understand it." Kiawe raises a brow. "How so?" "Hop is the Assistant to Professor Sonia and a Professor-in-Training while Victor is helping out at the battle tower. They have busy schedules. As for Bede, I'm not surprised as he is an ass, and Marnie has the Gym to run." She types a little more, a sad look in her eyes. "It doesn't matter, it's not like I am going back anyway." She shakes her head softly.
Kiawe frowns lightly resting his face against his hand lightly. "Listen, you are going to have to face them eventually. They are your friends, the closest things to family you have. I'm sure they miss you deeply." She sighs, typing the last of the song. "I don't know Kiawe." She clicks the send button and stands up, stretching. Kiawe nods. "I get it, you take your time on it. I'll be here to be your rock the entire way." Amethyst smiled, her purple eyes shining in the light as a smile makes its way onto her face. She pulls Kiawe into a hug. "Thanks. You have no idea how much this means to me." When they release the hug, Kiawe digs into his bag, pulling out a new game. Mortal Kombat. When Amethyst read the title she grew excited, and a grin pulled itself onto her face and her eyes lit up with joy. "You on for after dinner?" "You bet!"
The pair make their way to the house, playfully teasing about who was going to win. Amethyst set out on cooking, and Kiawe just talked with her as she cooked. "You want bitter melon curry tonight?" He grins. "Sounds great."
"So tell me about your journey through Kalos. I don't think I've heard that one." Amethyst smiles. "Well, when I arrived I ran into Professor Sycamore, who was kind enough to let me stay with him in exchange for helping him out at the lab." She plated the food, handing some to her pokemon and setting 2 plates at the table, sitting down with Kiawe. "I eventually decided on joining the Gym Challenge and he let me choose from one of the starters, and I chose Froakie, who happily joined my team and grew extremely quickly. During the Journey I gained a keystone and 2 mega stones. A Lucarionite and a Manectrite." She tapped the Keystone on her neck and took a bite of food. "I made my way through the elite 4 decently easy, and for once beat Diantha. I let her keep her position and make it as though I never won. At that time I wanted to keep traveling, and didn't want to be tied down by that job." Kiawe hummed. "Interesting. So you are pretty strong." She nodded. "I trained very hard. I wanted so badly to prove my family wrong. Leon is an incredibly strong Champion, it's no surprise I lost."
After dinner, they settled onto the couch to play the new game, but were interrupted by a tapping at the window. Amethyst cautiously made her way to the window. "Hello?" She called out after opening the window. She let out a startled yelp and she jumped as a pink-lined face appeared in front of her. "Hello..." "Tapu Lele." The pokemon called softly, holding out an item for her to take. "For me?" The pokemon nodded. "Lele." Amethyst slowly reached out and took the item. "Thank you Tapu Lele." "Lele!" The pokemon then darted off.
Amethyst turned to Kiawe, who watched where the island Guardian previously was. "What was Tapu Lele here for?" Amethyst looked at the item in her hands, before showing it to Kiawe. "She gave me this." Kiawe's brows furrowed. "That's a Z-Ring." "Really?" He nodded, and went into the basics of Z-moves and Z-power. Amethyst's eyes widened. "Wow, this is really cool." She slid the band onto her left wrist. "You'll have to show me how to use this when it's not this late. Until then, let's get going on Mortal Kombat. I bet you it's 2 rounds before I am completely demolishing you." Kiawe took a controller. "Bet."
