Chapter 13

Amethyst sat awkwardly Placed between Kiawe and Mimo, but thankful for being placed next to them and not the school kids or the Galarians. After saying their thanks they began to eat, everyone chatting idly with one another. She finished eating fairly quickly, dismissing herself from the table, pulling her songbook out from her bag. She grabbed a pencil, going to sit on one of the hills and settled quietly. She hummed the tune softly in her head as she worked, not noticing the Dark-Type Gym Leader approaching her from behind. "Mind if I join you?" Amethyst jumped and turned to look at Marnie. She nodded tensely. "Sure." Marnie settled down next to her, staring at the large moon looming above them.

Amethyst returned to the song, which definitely wasn't for Piers. It was not his style by any far stretch of the Imagination. It spoke about her desires to impress her parents, and her running away to prove herself. She thought a moment, before Titling it 'Someone to You', and did a sketch of what she wanted the cover art for the single to be. Marnie peered over. "Are those song lyrics?" Amethyst nodded. "They aren't the best, but I like to write and sing them." Marnie smiles. "My brother is a popular singer! I'm sure he could help you out with getting a career started with singing if you want." Amethyst shakes her head. "Thank you Marnie, but I'll have to decline. As great as it would be to sing, I feel the pressure of it is enormous." Marnie shrugs. "It's your choice, but if you ever change your mind, let me know."

They were interrupted by Hau running up to them. "Hey! We are doing battles! Come on, it will be fun!" Amethyst shook her head. "I'd rather not, but I'll come and observe." Hau pouts, but then turns to Marnie, who sighs. "Fine, I'll do it." Hau drags everyone back to the house. "Are you participating Crystal?" Mallow speaks up, to which Amethyst shakes her head. "I'll be acting as the nurse on duty, and will serve as the referee. It will also make the battles evenly paired, with 13 Galarians and the Alolan 7, since Hop is choosing not to battle and observe." Mallow shrugs. "We'll draw sticks to determine the first matches. We'll do 1 v 1 for the first round, then 3 v 3, and then full team 6 v 6. No Z-moves will be used. Does that work?" They nod, and draw their sticks. The first match was Kiawe and Kabu.

Amethyst mentally winced at the match up. This was going to be rough. "This is a 1 v 1 non-official match between Fire Gym Leader Kabu and Fire Trial Captain Kiawe. The match will be decided when one party is unable to battle. Could both parties please send out your first pokemon?" Kabu sends out Centiskorch, and In-turn, Kiawe sends out Charizard, who lets out a low grumble. Leon practically had stars in his eyes, and Raihan smacked him over the head. "Are both parties ready?" Receiving nods on both ends, she calls the battle to a start. Kiawe immediately calls out for Charizard to use Aerial Ace. Kabu quickly calls for a Fire Spin. Both attacks land, but Centiskorch takes more damage. "Use Crunch!" "Dodge it and use Dragon Claw!" Blow after blow is dealt in a grueling 20 minute battle. Eventually, Centiskorch collapses in exhaustion. Amethyst calls the match before rushing to help the injured Radiator Pokemon, Gardevoir immediately at her side with her medical bag. After a few moments, healing salve was applied and wrapped snugly and Centiskorch crooned happily, excited to see a familiar face. Kabu returned him and shook Kiawe's hand. "You have amazing potential young man, I hope you realize just how far you could go." Kiawe smiled softly. "Thank you."

Bea v Sophocles - Bea .
Raihan v Nessa - Raihan  .
Milo v Lana - Lana
Melony v Hau - Hau .
Gordie v Mallow - Gordie .
Allister v Lillie - Allister .
Bede v Marnie - Bede

    Amethyst stared at the group as they drew lots. This time, they would be doing simultaneous 3 v 3 matches, with the previous rounds losers Refereeing. That left her able to do a proper job and open for any emergencies. She watched people get settled within small parameters, releasing their pokemon and beginning their battleSmall explosions were scattered about the field, and she walked about observantly. Kiawe was against Allister, Raihan was against Gordie, Bea was against Hau, which left Bede against Lana. Bea was the first to falter, her pokemon collapsing to the field, some paralysed, others frozen. Amethyst and Comfey worked diligently, making the pokemon comfortable and pain-free. Gardevoir assisted Hau with his team, but it wasn't long before Gordie fell. Amethyst left Comfey to finish healing Bea's pokemon while they ran over to Gordie's pokemon, attending to the slight burns and scratches with ease, wrapping them in a stretchy and hard-to-rip material. She moved over to Flygon and Duraludon, who cheered as they recognized her. She hushed them and treated their small cuts and wounds, giving them a pet before leaving Comfey to do her thing.
