"Hey look! It's Noah!" Ken excitedly points out to the others who look down.
They all are shocked and Zoey even broke down in tears. Relieved, but also guilty that she left her friend by rejecting his confession.
I mean, she wasn't going to accept his love, still, she wanted him to be safe and okay.
And hopefully, find someone else who might like him for who he is.
"Noah!" They all yelled from above the waterfall, and Noah looks dazed. Looking around him, forgetting to look up and once he did, insurmountable ecstasy ran through his nerves.
It was as if the world finally had sunlight, where he bathed in it and smiled brightly back up.
He's grateful to have friends as such.
"I'm coming up!" Noah screamed.
Once he met them, they all just huddled together under one embrace.
Zoey looked at him remorseful, but Noah just smiled back at her. Indicating that it's okay and that he's doing just fine.
"So what happened?" Leah asked him. He takes a moment, to conclude everything that he's witnessed into his head, before spewing out the facts. They all stay silent, patiently waiting for Noah to say something.
"Well, to be honest, I don't know what happened when I was kidnapped... But once I woke up, I was in this underground cavern, nearby this waterfall, where there were female faeries, each ranging from three to five feet tall I think, with pastel-colored wings, and different skin, dark and light... and they wanted me to..." He was getting nervous, wondering if he should explain this part to them.
"Well, what they want you to do?" Zyan asked impatiently. He sees the look of hunger in all of his friends' eyes. There's absolutely no way he'll speak about what the faeries wanted from him. He couldn't even believe it.
But he had to think of something. In the spur of the moment, he responded, "They wanted me to lure you guys here."
"Oh.. But did you allow-"
"Not for the world, so I said something about their precious flower, and I escaped..."
"Well then what did you say?" Zyan asked.
"That's a secret," he replied, annoying everyone, even Ken was pissed.
"Ah... when did friends ever keep secrets?..."
"Then when were friends ever honest?" Noah sassed back, stunning everyone, as he was a messiah sent by the angels, from God's grace, he spits confidently.
"What are you-"
"Ken, I know you're the one who ate my spaghetti-spinach-alfredo-pesto, not Leah."
"What! You!-" Leah looks over to Ken with a death glare, and at that moment he knew he screwed up, and they both start running around in circles, playing an immature game of cat and mouse.
Zoey looks back at Noah, and before she could utter a word, Noah puts his hand up, "It's okay, Zoey. I'm fine."
"But-"
And Noah pulls her into a hug.
This bothered Zyan who was watching furiously at the two locking bodies together. It looked disgusting. And even though he's happy that Noah's back, he isn't happy that he's being too touchy with Zoey.
Before he went to go pummel his face, he stops hugging Zoey, pulling her apart from his arms and holds onto her arms, making sure she stands tall and proud.
And it was this moment, Noah was thinking about what actually happened with the Manamachi faeries:
When everyone remained tensed when Giriozi mentioned The Nombuchu's Trade he didn't understand what was up.
"Hey what's-" but Giriozi gestures him to shut his mouth up and not ask nosy questions. He wanted to ask the others, however, they didn't know themselves.
It seems that only Giriozi knew the answers to all the questions.
And as she scrolls through the pages, she stops to one page, where everyone once antsy in fear, now were more curious.
What could she be looking at?
"Aha! Right from the ancient text! Only the male can read off of the Karniva."
Everyone looks confused, and it was at this moment, Noah knew that he must risk it.
"Only the strongest faerie can do it!... So is there anyone who can break this wretched curse!"
It stood silent, and Giriozi stared at him, wanting to execute him immediately.
"Why I'm the strongest one!" A faerie exclaimed and Giriozi looks for the faerie who said that. Then another. Then another. Before they all claim, and tie themselves to an individual civil war, seeing who is rightful to have power over such a tribe.
Before Giriozi could trap Noah, he figured out a way to escape.
"Okay let's go back in the van. I've had enough for one day..." Ken said and everyone else agreed.
As soon as they were safely inside the van, they felt a push from behind, and Zoey looks back to see the most disturbing image she's has ever seen.
It's the figure she saw yesterday night with Leah...
To be continued...
