chapter 17,-

heejin's pov~

the next few days passed really quick. it was finally friday and hyunjin and i packed immediately after our classes. nara hadn't asked where i was going but i told her i was gonna visit my parents for the weekend. when we finished packing we met up and walked out the building together.

i followed him down to the school's big parking lot. he drives, which i didn't even know. we got to his car and put everything inside, then got in. "does your mom know im coming?" he nodded as he started the car, put on the navigation, then drove off.

the drive was kinda long, but it was amazing. i ate whatever snacks he had and blasted music, singing our lungs out. he started driving into this forest area and i lowkey started to freak out until i saw a house and a driveway.

we got out and hyunjin's mom ran out and hugged hyunjin the best she could. she looked really weak and pale. i stood behind them and hyunjin rubbed her back. "wheres heejin?!" i quickly fixed my hair and hyunjin moved to reveal me. "ahh heejin! ive missed you sweetheart!" i gave her a really big smile and she came to hug me, i hugged back.

"mrs. hwang, how are you?" she quickly backed away and looked at me. "no, don't call me that! im not with that horrible man anymore, just call me seoyeon." she smiled at me and i felt a bit embarrassed but nodded with a slight smile. "i made cookies, who wants them?" i jumped in excitement and followed her inside the house while hyunjin grabbed our luggage and brought it inside.

she pulled up a chair for me and brought a plate filled with cookies. i didn't hesitate and quickly grabbed one, stuffing it into my mouth. hyunjin sat next to me and seoyeon brought two glasses of water. she gave it to us and sat with us.

hyunjin and her talked about everything, school, life, how much they miss each other. as i was eating the cookies, i looked around in the kitchen and noticed the amount of pill bottles placed next to each other, and a nice vase filled with roses. i also looked at the fridge and saw a picture of a young boy, hyunjin when he was little, seoyeon, and a man that im guessing was hyunjin's dad.

i snapped out of the gaze when seoyeon was calling my name. i looked over at her and saw that hyunjin had left. she grabbed my hands and held him. "you were looking at the picture, weren't you?" i looked at the picture and then back at her and nodded. "is that hyunjin's dad?" she nodded as well. "you remember what happened right?" "i do, why did he leave?" she smiled like the wise women she was, remembering all the memories.

"i fell in love with him of course, had hyunjin, and i got pregnant again with his child when hyunjin was about ten. but then i found out he was cheating. around the same time, i hit my due date but i had a miscarriage." i held her hand tight letting her know how sorry i was. "it was hard for both hyunjin and i but i tried my best to be there for him, i played with him to try to get his mind off of his dad, i cried with him, i took care of him, i did everything."

"that's really the reason i stopped taking him to all the work events and stuff. i got too emotional and did worse to hyunjin." i looked at her confused. "how so?" "i stopped bringing him but that was a huge mistake. he's always liked you, even when he was a kid back then and when i took him away to live with me here, he never stopped asking about you. that's why i told him to bring you, i wanted to ask you something." i nodded and waited for her to ask.

"do you like hyunjin? not as a friend but i mean do you romantically have feelings for him?" the question took me by shock. it really had me thinking. "i mean..he's cute and funny and he has a good taste in fashion which is also super cute and his personality is just amazing, like he's so caring and thoughtful and not to mention dramati-" i stopped when i realized what i was saying and seoyeon couldn't stop smiling. "i..i think i do."
