hyunjin's pov~

she looked so beautiful. walking to the dance, i held her hand. but holding it felt weird. i shook it off thinking it was just me being nervous.

we got to the dance, and everyone was seen dancing and having fun. the music was so loud, it was hard to hear anything, or even recognize anyone. everyone was wearing masks, that was the theme. i looked around for the boys but i saw minho and jeongin waving me down and calling my name so i walked over to them. "i look better than all of you." they scoffed but jisung shook his head. "heejin looks the best." she smiled and bowed and even did a little curtsy.

i looked around and noticed the mini snack station, i pulled heejin there with me. i grabbed almost everything that was there and stuffed it into my mouth. then i saw cookies and pointed to them. "they look like my mom's, you should try it." she shook her head and instead grabbed some candy and ate it. last time i remembered she liked my mom's cookies a lot.

i saw an empty table and sat there eating the snacks i picked out. heejin sat too but immediately went on her phone. every time i tried talking to her she would just nod and pay attention to her phone. it was so quiet and felt awkward so i looked around and watched everyone dance.

just after i finished my snacks, a slow song came on. heejin looked at me and i stood up, her following. i smiled and grabbed her hand and we walked over to the dance floor. the rhythm was so slow, it felt perfect being able to dance like this with heejin.

i put my hands on her waist and she put her arms on my shoulder. we stayed like that for a while.

then she accidentally stepped on my foot and it hurt. i awkwardly laughed and she smiled. i looked down at her shoes and realized she wasn't wearing converse, she was wearing heels. no matter what, she always wore those shoes, not heels. but maybe she just wanted to change things up since this was a dance.
