Two weeks later...
Your POV

"Y/N, wake up!" Jess said frantically.

"Why?" I mumbled falling asleep. I had been working day and night and I was so sleepy.

"Elijah got shot and is in the hospital," she said trying to get me up.

"Sounds like a him problem," I replied and she pulled me out of bed.

"Y/N, get up please. For me?" she asked and I groaned. I sat up, looked at the time and shook my head. I threw on a pair of sweats and a random hoodie. I brushed my teeth and washed my face before grabbing my phone and my car keys.

"Let's go, baby," Jess said damn near about to have a panic attack.

"Hey, calm down," I told her and she took a deep breath. We got in the car and I drove us to the hospital. She held my hand the entire ride. We got to the hospital and she damn near dragged me in.

"We're looking for Elijah Y/L/N," Jess told the receptionist.

"He's currently in surgery, you're gonna have to wait in the waiting room in the third floor," She said as she made us sign in. We went up to the this floor. Luna was their with her annoying baby daddy and a sleepy Micah. Their grandparents were there also, but I didn't pay them any attention.

"What happened?" Jess asked Luna.

"He was hanging out with those boys. One was "playing" with a gun and Elijah twice. One in the thigh. One in the calf. You don't shoot someone twice while "playing with a gun". The guy just didn't have aim," she told Jess. Micah reached out for me and I took him from Luna. He was cold, so I unzipped my jacket, laid him on my chest and zipped it back up. He giggled softly, but definitely ended up going to sleep. Jess sat next to me with her head resting on my arm with her fingers interlocked.

"I'm so sleepy," I mumbled closing my eyes, but I couldn't fall asleep. When I was about to fall asleep, the nurse came to get us.

"My baby," his grandmother said crying and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm sorry, grandma," he said to her.

"Why the fuck were you hanging out with them? They don't fucking like you," Luna asked and he shrugged. He had this whole "I don't care" attitude, so I was about to leave. I unzipped my jacket trying to hand Micah to Luna, but he wasn't trying to let go of me.

"I'll come pick him up in the morning. You should've known he wasn't going to let you go," Luna said and I chuckled. I gave Luna a side hug.

"Come on, Jess," I said gentle grabbing her hand.

"So y'all just gone leave?" Elijah asked.

"Yes. Is it not obvious? I didn't even wanna be here," I told him and it hurt his feelings. He looked at Luna, who just shrugged.

"I'm sorry, Y/N."

"Next time, they won't miss," I told him and left out of the room with Jess and Micah. Jess was sitting in the front seat quietly. Micah was snoring in his seat. I drove us home, parked in the garage and went inside. I took off my sweats, my hoodie and the shirt I had on. I changed Micah into some light pajamas and placed him in the middle of the bed. I put pillow around him and went to go check up on Jess.

"What's wrong, baby?" I asked her as I walked in her room.

"I don't see how someone can be so careless with their life and expect everyone to come crying when something bad happens to them," she said as she changed into her pajamas.

"Want a hug?" I asked her and she nodded cutely.

"Come here, my baby," I told her and pulled her to me.
