I sometimes remember with a start all the things we haven't done
I remember how long we've been apart together
We've taken so many
normal relationship steps
from here and there
That it is surprising to think I really haven't held your hand for longer than two seconds
I haven't held the door open
haven't bought you dinner
haven't bought you flowers
haven't sat close together on the couch and nervously put my arm around you
Instead of these we bring each other listening we bring each other effort
We bring each other connection
