When I think about trust and stress I use that last real weekend as a ruler
the lap sitting
the wiping tears
It upset me to hear you use me as a ruler against her messages

When I think of self -expression I use your
notes as a ruler
But it hurts
then I throw them away
I could maybe take a string to them
Clip it to just the right length
And use that

Keeps us from getting cut
a stand in the real thing was mostly hurt
Mostly anxious mostly trying to understand you
Mostly not understanding why
But the in person moments were sturdy
They make a great ruler
Or impression of one
