Tony's POV:
When I wake up, I have this unfamiliar feeling. I clear my vision and I realize that it's because someone is sleeping right next to me. I looked down and I notice it's Melissa. I lay here for a second not knowing what to do. I go down on her and she looks so peaceful. I want to move but I don't want to wake her up. She finally fell asleep last night, and I don't want to ruin that.
I look around the living room and I notice our coffee mugs are on the table along with her wine glass. I look around and I notice how roomy this room is. It's cozy, nice, and hers and Tim's.
I got to get up.
I move my legs the slightest and I notice her eyes open.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up."
She stretches her arms and sits up. "It's okay. You have to be getting to work, now don't you?"
No, I don't actually. It's because of my great thinking at 4 o'clock in the morning that I told Gibbs that both of us weren't coming in today. Now that I'm awake and I'm coherent and I know where I am, I now realize that that was not a great idea.
Technically, I can take it back. I can take it back if I just go into work. Gibbs won't think anything of it.
She looks at the table and giggles to herself. "Do you want more coffee? I'm assuming this one is kind of old." She laughs to herself this time and it's cute. It goes well with her bed head.
"Yeah, I would."
I follow her into the kitchen, grabbing the wine glass.
She puts our old mugs in the sink and turns to see the glass in my hands. "Oh," she puts one hand over her face. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Is all I think to say. I want to say more, but I'm new to this. The first time Melissa and I shared a morning together it was when she and Tim weren't together. She had a panic attack at work and fell to the floor.
I had to change her into my clothes. She was wearing jeans and I couldn't let her sleep in that. That's horrid.
"Here." She hands me the coffee and snaps me out of it.
"Thank you."
"Oh, wow what time is it? Are you late?"
"No!" I clear my throat. "I mean no. I told Gibbs that I wasn't coming in today."
She slowly turns to me while pouring her coffee. "Oh, is everything okay?"
"It is if I can spend the day with you." I don't know what I'm doing but my mouth won't stop. First, I call out at four in the morning and now I'm asking to spend the day with her. When I'm the one who told Gibbs, she isn't coming into work today.
She shrugs. "Sure. I don't know how much fun I'll be though."
"Any minute spent with you is fun." Help! I can't turn it off.
She smiles and shakes her head. "Okay, I'm game."
I start walking towards the living room when I hear her laughing behind me. I turn to face her. "What is it?"
She shakes her head. "Nothing it's just." She gestures to my green plaid pajama bottoms and matching T-shirt, and then to her pink plaid pajamas and matching T-shirt. "We kind of match."
I chuckle and look at the floor. "Yeah, it looks like we do."
The rest of the day was spent eating snacks, drinking coffee, and I learned that she loves the shows Frasier. She laughs a lot during the episodes. I don't mind it I think it's cute. I just never actually seen it before.
