Tony's POV:
I knock on the door repeatedly in my pajamas. I know he can't be at work yet and I know someone else is definitely home so someone better answer this door.
"What the hell?" I hear as the door tears open. "DiNozzo. I knew I was seeing you soon, but I didn't think it was here."
He lets me in his since someone clearly can't come outside, and I can't say the name without causing a ruckus.
"I know. I'm just here to talk to you know who." I'm in his house and I still feel like I can't say it.
"Right, so both of us will be late for work."
"Where you headed to boss?"
My answer is the sound of the door closing behind him. I figured as much.
I head down the stairs because I can't even get my mouth to say his name out loud since he's living.
I can tell the creaking of the stairs startles him the way he whispers Gibbs name.
"Gibbs?"
"It's just me Probie." I finally make it down the stairs.
I watch the fear leave his face. "Hey. What are you doing here?"
I sit on the stool that isn't too far from the bed they brought down here for him. I look at it and remember that it's better than the one Melissa used to have in her old room.
I look around the room and it's still very depressing since the last time I saw it.
He stand in front of me, and I can barely look at him.
"How'd you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Don't do that to Probie. You know what I'm mean."
The confused look he was trying to pull goes away. He sighs and shakes his head.
"I don't know exactly how it went down. Gibbs came in and I was in so much pain that I couldn't move a lot. Next thing you know I was sedated. You'll have to ask Gibbs the rest."
I don't want to. I know with him he won't tell me to begin with. Who knows if I'll even get the truth out of him?
"I really hate lying to her Tim." I confess.
He looks at me and I can tell he feels bad. He swallows and he isn't in no form smiling because he's happy to see me anymore. "I know from where you're sitting it may not seem like it, but it's killing me too."
"That's a poor choice of words don't you think?"
I make him chuckle a bit, that wasn't my intent, but it's nice to here him laugh a little.
I hate that.
He clears his throat. "Why didn't you or Melissa go to work the other day?"
Of course, Gibbs told him that. Now that he's hiding here it's like they have an alliance going on. I was hoping Gibbs would keep that to himself, I shouldn't.
I shouldn't hope that he would. It's nothing to worry about any way.
I told Tim that I would take care of her. In one way it's none of his business, then again, she's his widow. Maybe I'm just making it none of his business in my head because I feel bad for her more than him.
"She's having nightmares."
His eyes widen and shoulders fall. "About me?"
"No, the sandman, yes you!" Looks like I wanted to be pettier than I thought. "Yes, about you and about that day. She can't sleep unless..."
