"Secretary Lee, please bring those files that came from the shareholders." Jungkook spoke over the intercom as he continued working on his laptop. He flipped through the pages of some random document that laid upon his desk as he continued functioning.
A soft knock was heard on his door as he said "Come in." still continuing to type on his laptop. Secretary Lee entered as he softly smiled while placing the file Jungkook had asked for, on his desk. "Here, Mr. Jeon." He said as he stood back straight, waiting for Jungkook to say something.
Jungkook took the file as he looked up at Mr. Lee. "Thank you, Secretary Lee." He said, smiling. Mr. Lee bowed a total 90 degree, as he was ready to leave.
"Secretary Lee, do you know about any book cafés around the city?" he asked, placing the file back on his table. Mr. Lee looked at Jungkook, a little muddled by his superior's odd question.
"Uh...not any that I'm sure of?" his voice was a little lost as he wondered if he actually knew any book cafés around the city.
"Ahhh... That's ...that's okay I guess, you may go now." Jungkook smiled as Mr. Lee, bowed again and proceeded his way towards the door.
"Mr. Lee, wait!" Jungkook called out again, softly biting his lower lip in embarrassment as he felt guilty for bothering Me. Lee again. "Yes, Mr. Jeon?" Mr. Lee asked, a smile on his face.
"Can you please do me a favour and check if there's any book café under the name, Kang Y/n?" he asked. Mr. Lee nodded. "Sure, I'll get onto it right now." He said, as he walked outside ready to look into what Jungkook was asking about.
It had been a week since the high school party and Jungkook was currently at his company. Once he came out of the washroom that day, he looked around everywhere in hopes of finding you, but unfortunately couldn't find you anywhere.
He wanted to know where your book café was and he wanted to drop by, cause he really wished to spend some time with you. Meeting you after five years, he realised it wasn't that easy to just get you out of his head.
He wanted to at least be a part of your life, if not as a lover, then as a friend. He was sure it was going to be something you would be against, but he would try anything and everything to at least regain your trust again and establish a new friendship with you.
In other words, he wanted to start over.
Jungkook stretched his arms as he pressed his back against his chair, yawning later as he shut his laptop. Glancing at the clock, he saw the time, realising it was just 5:00 pm.
It had almost been just an hour since his previous concurrence with Secretary Lee and he wondered why he still wasn't back with the piece of information he wanted. He picked up the intercom again, ready to call him and enquire if he was able to gather any information and just before he could do that, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." Jungkook said as he looked over at the huge door and in came, Secretary Lee with his iPad. "Oh, Secretary Lee, were you able to find what I asked you for?" Jungkook softly asked to which Mr. Lee confidentially nodded, placing the iPad on Jungkook's desk.
"Mr. Jeon, I was able to locate one book café under Kang Y/n that goes by the name "Silkreads book café". It's located in Yeoksam- dong, a few metres away from the national bank. The opening hours are from 11 am to 9:30 pm." Mr. Lee ended his explanation as Jungkook scrolled through his iPad, scanning at the various pictures of your little happy place.
He noticed how many positive reviews were flooding under your website and how popular it was among the public. Looking at the pictures, he realised how you had set it up exactly like how you had explained it to him, way back in high school.
It was just exactly like your dream work place and he couldn't explain how happy he was for you. The only thing that stung his heart was the fact that he wasn't able to be a part of your happiness.
"Secretary Lee, do I have anything on my schedule after this?" Jungkook questioned. Mr. Lee took the iPad from Jungkook as he switched apps, opening Jungkook's schedule. Scanning it, he looked back at Jungkook.
"You have a company dinner with the chairman of DSW enterprises at 6:45pm." He replied as Jungkook cupped his face between his hands. "And that's gonna go on till...?" he asked. "Around eight, precisely." Mr. Lee replied as Jungkook nodded. "Perfect. The book café closes at 9:30, right? I have enough time." Jungkook said, smiling brightly as he clapped.
8:28 pm
"I'm so full, I think I'm gonna throw up." Jungkook said to himself as he clicked on his seat belt, later setting the GPS location to your book café, "Silkreads book café".
He smiled to himself as he started the car, ready to head towards your book café and talk things out with you. He wanted to get to know more about your life and how you were doing.
He sure did miss you a whole lot, but a part of him knew that things wouldn't exactly go back to how they were.
Continuing to drive, Jungkook was suddenly stimulated as the Bluetooth of his car speaker started ringing, indicating that someone had called. The caller ID read "Irene"
He somewhat lazily soughed before accepting the call. "Hello?" he answered. "Hi Kookie, are you gonna be late today? I heard you already had dinner, so are you heading home now?" she softly asked. "No Irene, something urgent came up. Don't wait for me, you can go ahead and sleep." Jungkook replied. "Oh...oh okay....Bye Kookie." She said, her voice a little less cheerful than before. "Bye." Jungkook simply said as he ended the call and continued driving.
"Because I wanted you." He turned from the window to face me. "More than I ever wanted anything in my life," he added softly.
I continued staring at him, dumbstruck. Whatever I had been expecting, it wasn't this."
"Ugh how romantic." You wistfully said as you held the big fat book "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, one of your all time favourite authors. While everyone was out there watching the digital version of outlander, you were here reading it. You believed that reading it was a thousand better times than watching it.
"Can someone please say this to me?" you whined lifting the book up. "Because I wanted you." You whispered, getting yourself into character as you added a lustful effect to your voice.
"Ugh too bad these things only happen in books." You flouted, puckering your lips. You turned your head towards the digital clock that remained fixed on the wall. "9:03pm" it read.
You gazed over the counter where you were seated as you realised how empty the library was. "This thing really works under Kyungseok, Huh? Never mind, guess it's time to call it a day." You sighed, thinking about how many girls didn't show up today because Kyungseok wasn't there. Still, you were happy with how much you earned today.
Despite the fact you'd usually close at 9:30 every other day, today you decided to close a little early. You walked around the library, placing the book you were reading before, back in its slotted shelf and checking if everything was in its place soon enough, you were done with everything and you switched off all the lights, collecting your bag and taking your phone.
You locked the huge glass door as you walked down the stairs, now standing on the pavement. Just at that very moment, you felt a cold drop hit the surface of your scalp. And before you could actually contemplate what was happening, harsh beads of water dropped from the sky and it began raining heavily.
Placing both your palms over your head, you quickly ran back towards the stairs of your café, gaining shelter as you cursed to yourself. "What a perfect timing." You groaned.
