"Hanako-San.. Hanako-San.. Are you there?"
------------------------------
One month. That's all it took for Yashiro Nene to fall in love again.
Yashiro was a student at Kamome Academy, an elite school. There were only two ways to attend, you either passed the exams or you came from a rich family. Yashiro had passed the exams. She decided to take them instead of using money.
"Nene~Chan! Guess what I heard of!" Aoi ran up to Yashiro keeping a smile on her face.
Akane Aoi, a popular girl who came from a family of wealth. She also decided to take the exams to enter. She passed with full marks too. Since she was in primary school, other kids would always confess to her. Her beauty was the explanation, but so was her personality. Aoi was the kind of girl who was both beautiful inside and out with no flaws and if there were any, people wouldn't care. She was the most popular girl in the highschool division. Maybe the whole school!
"Ao~chan! How are you?" Yashiro looked up and gave Aoi a smile. They had been together since middle school. Yashiro was the first true friend Aoi ever had. Maybe that's why Akane never bothered to do anything rash to her.
The boy named Aoi Akane was Aoi's childhood friend. He had a crush on Aoi since they were children and would always be confessing but Aoi always denied him. The reason? Well because Aoi always said "But then my name would be Aoi Aoi!" so instead of saying yes she would always tell him that she would think about it.
"I'm doing fine! But hey, Nene~chan. Wanna hear a rumor?" Aoi's voice seemed to get more serious and darker as she spoke but kept the bright smile on her face, sending chills down Yashiro's spine.
"Yeah!" Yashiro tried to ignore the chills but couldn't help it. She knew Aoi meant no harm but yet still got scared whenever she did that.
"Well then... Have you heard of Hanako-San of the lake?" Aoi began to speak.
"Like the one from Hanako-San of the toilet?" Yashiro got curious about her friends' rewording.
"It's similar but different." Aoi began to speak, gaining the attention of Yashiro and those around her. "Behind the old middle school building, you'll find a lake with a dragon spirit said to live there. She goes by the name of Hanako-San, too. In order to make a wish, you would need to head over to a stone located in the center of the lake with the kanji for 'Sealed' engraved on it. Knock three times, call for her and she'll appear and grant you any wish you like for a price. But be careful since the price will be unknown until it's too late."
"Scary." Yashiro could help but feel scared because of the rumor. She knew Aoi meant no harm but still, she didn't have to say it with a murderous tone and an innocent smile. "But, I have one question."
"And that is...?" Aoi's attention was caught by Yashiro's sudden words.
"How would you get towards the center of the lake? Everybody knows that anyone's hardly there and the area behind is practically closed off so you would have to enter the building. Unless the lake is small then how could someone possibly get there?" Yashiro needed to know the answer. No one had been there for years and it's possible that if there were a bridge, it would have already fallen or any possibility of a boat would be gone but then again, who was she to decide what was there or not? She'd never gotten close to the building.
"Silly! That's simple!" Aoi spoke, placing her fingertips together while keeping her elbows on the desk. "There's two ways to get to the center. The first one is the small boat located next to the lake. Sure no one has been there in a long time but I'm sure it's still in one piece! The second way is by swimming towards the center. It would probably save you a bit of time!"
Yashiro groaned a bit before speaking. "I'd rather take the boat.. I don't want to get my uniform wet." Yashiro muttered trying to keep her voice low but failing to do so. "Plus, the water is probably dirty and I would be in need of a bath as soon as I get home."
"Oh don't worry! I have a spare!" Aoi said to try and comfort her friend.
"Back to the rumor though, if you're successful in summoning her, you will see a young girl wearing a red and white short kimono." Aoi began to describe the spirit's appearance. She knew Yashiro would probably need it. "Her hair would be long but only up to her shoulders resembling a bob haircut style. She would have a tail and some scales so you could easily identify her with those features."
"So in a way, she's similar to Hanako-San of the toilet. Right?" Yashiro didn't know much about rumors but she was thankful that Aoi was there to fill her in. It was moments before Aoi began to speak again.
"Mhm! So, are you going to do it?"
"Are you going to make a wish?"
"Hmm.. Yeah! I am!" Yashiro replied to her friend. She lacked confidence but for some reason, she felt as if she needed to go there.

So?
Did it meet your expectations?
If not, should I rewrite this chapter?
I apologize if it's kinda bad! (That's an understatement though. It's VERY bad.) It's my first time doing this!
Side note too! In Japan they use their last name first when presenting and after their first name! I tried to keep it like that. I also did research.. Aoi's and Akane's names always confuse me. Forgive me if I mixed them up though!
Thank you for reading and see you in the next chapter! (Well... at least your view anyway-)
