across the street from his apartment complex was a park seungcheol liked to visit often. for one, there was an open field that was perfect for taking photos, especially because of the recent blooming of flowers due to the current abundance of rain.

holding it tightly by the straps, he wandered for a couple minutes to find a perfect area for his photo. his eyes wandering over to the large tree at the center of the huge field. the beaming sun made it difficult to capture the field, especially because of the glare it gives off, giving seungcheol no choice but to find shade to avoid the bothersome sunlight.

careful to not step on the pretty and vibrant flora, the male reached the large tree. it's bright green bushes stretched past him and stood above him like an umbrella. he took a seat that the base of the tree and held his camera in his hands, bringing it up to his eyes and adjusting the zoom and focus ring to capture the view in front of him.

he pressed down on the shutter button and a click was heard. a small smile appeared on seungcheol's face as he flipped the lcd display to view his photo. there, was the field with the various flowers in all sorts of colors, the focus being the flora and the background being blurred as if to look like a mirage.

not satisfied yet, seungcheol made sure to take at least four more shots so he could pick the one he found the most enjoyable. the photography gallery he worked for was trying a new colorful type of concept, and with his original style being more black and white, he was ecstatic to try out new styles.

as his deadline for at least 5 different shots neared, he found that in his own area, there were plenty of places he could for the concept. pressing onto the shutter one final time, the male gleamed proudly knowning he needed one more shot left before his end of the week deadline.

behind him, the sun was slowly setting and the sky above was fading into shades of warm colors. seungcheol got up from the grass he was sprawled on and made his way back to the apartment.

the building complex having five different floors and having a white color that made it look freshly painted. the boy recently moved in to be closer to his school and the place he worked, but due to his busy schedule, he had yet to unpack all of his belongings.

entering the elevator, he pressed the button  to the fourth floor and stayed quietly in the corner with his camera gripped tightly. just as the door was about to close, two boys walked in and entered the confined space. the entrance finally shut and the elevator shook slightly as it moved up the floors to their destination.

"josh, if i didn't shove you into that pole then we would've never gotten those free drinks. you should be thanking me!"

"i could’ve broken a nose or lost a tooth rat! you aren't getting any thanks from me."

the photographer stood silently as the duo continued to bicker with one another. though what the conflict was about was very idiotic, seungcheol wasn't going let them know how dumb they sounded.

"i see how it is, always trying to fight. when will you admit you love me, joshua." the blonde haired one said dramatically, wiping a fake tear from his eye and looking away from the other. giving him the chance to finally acknowledge seungcheol's existence.

"oh! hey there uh cutie- i mean camera dude" he said quickly and examined the slightly taller male in front of him, "i don't think i've seen you here before?"

seungcheol looked up slowly, his fluffy black hair fell over his eyes as he gave an awkward smile, "i uh just moved here," he spoke softly, "i'm seungcheol."

the two friends glanced at each, making the shy one grab onto the hem of his sleeves and pull them anxiously. his inability to socialize with anyone heavily impacting him as he looked away to avoid their judgement.

the male with light brown hair took notice of seungcheol's behavior and broke the long silence, "well uh i'm joshua and the loser next to me is jeonghan, he's my annoying roommate" he said.

the blonde haired one was quick to send a glare at joshua before giving a soft expression at the male in front of him. "well, if you ever have a question or need advice on where the best places to get food are, just let us know!" he replied enthusiastically.

the elevator then made a "ding" as the doors opened for the fourth floor, seungcheol being quick to exit despite being in the corner and rushing down to his apartment, 416. his keys fumbled in his hands as he tried to unlock his door, his shaky hands making it impossible to do so.

"let me help" a calming voice spoke.

seungcheol turn to his side to see joshua smiling sweetly at him, "the locks here are pretty tough to open" he said as he gently grabbed the black haired male's hand and took the key, unlocking the door with ease.

behind him was jeonghan who had opened the door to the apartment across from him. "it looks like we're neighbors" the angelic, blonde haired male spoke.

joshua handed the key back and stepped away from the shaky male, "don't be too scared of us" he said with a laugh, "again, just ask if you have an issue or- can't open your door."

before seungcheol could respond, the duo smiled back at him one last time before going in their apartment, closing the door softly. a tiny smile form on the boys face as he went in his home, packaged boxes were all in one corner while the rest of the place managed to stay spotless.

the boy went into his room and flopped on the bed, taking the camera off of his neck and  checking the shots he took that day. zooming in on each shot, he saw one with a glare, one too blurred, and another that was slightly moved at a different angle.

seungcheol finally settled on the 3rd photo he took, the angling was exactly what he wished for, the balance between the field and sky was perfect, and the backdrop was blurred perfectly to have the field of flora as the main focus. the male smiled to himself as he thought about his work coming out perfectly.

though the male was so close to completing his work, he had bo clue where the go for his last shot. the places he had gone to for the others were all nearby, and from what he had searched up online, there aren't many areas with the colorful look he wanted.

he pondered over asking the two he met just a few moments ago, but seungcheol was too nervous for that. instead he rolled on his bed and stressed over the multiple things he had going on the next day, not looking foward to it one bit.
