the sun had barely come out around 5 am, only a short ray of light pierced through the opened window of seungcheol's bedroom. in his pitch black room, the sudden disturbance of the light had him restless, already giving up on sleeping and finally waking up.

due to his morning classes at 7 am, and his normal unwillingness to wake up, he trusted the light would irritate him enough to get him up on time.

seungcheol let out a small yawn before he spent the next half an hour getting ready. his daily outfit consisted of comfortable outfits and the camera he took everywhere. always making sure he had it for his photography classes.

by the time he made it out the door, he could see the familiar duo waiting for the elevator across the hall. still embarrassed from their previous meeting, the male gathered up the courage to get inside the contraption along with them.

the two boys quickly noticed him and greeted him with large smiles, "hey seungcheol, would you like to get some coffee with us?" the angelic one asked, "josh wanted one since he can't survive morning classes"

seungcheol looked up to meet their shining eyes, "i don't know" he said quietly. he had no idea where his first class was and really didn't want to get lost or worse, embarrass himself in ways he didn't want to picture.

joshua butted in with his gentle smile, "we're paying so you don't need to worry about the cost or anything"

eventually, the male said yes and saw the two looking at him with excited expressions. the shy one of the three followed them, wanting to go behind them yet the duo kept him by their side.

"seungcheol, do you go to pledis college?" jeonghan asked, attempting to break the awkward silence between the two.

the black haired male glanced over at the angelic-like being, "yeah uh i start today. i major in photography" he said softly. the faintest smile formed on his face compared to the overenthusiastic roommates who smiled at every word he spoke.

they arrived in front of the cafe joshua bought his coffee at, and the others watched as the boy walked inside. jeonghan stayed beside the male with fluffy curls and large hoodie with a soft expression.  "we actually go there too so we can definitely show you to all your classes, that is, if you don't mind?" he asked.

"i'd like that" seungcheol said and slowly grew quieter, "also, you can call cheol"

jeonghan smiled, "sure cheol"

both talked, though it was mostly jeonghan asking questions and seungcheol giving short answers, but they grew a bit closer in the span of time they were together. finally, joshua had come out of the shop with three coffees in his arms, handing them out to each of the them.

seungcheol took a sip of the hot liquid, his eyes widening at the sweet flavor he loved to drink. this made joshua laughed lightly at the adorable response, "you seemed like the type to prefer a sweeter coffee" he said.

the three made their way to pledis, jeonghan and joshua making sure to keep seungcheol in the middle of them and having small talks to make sure no one felt left out.

eventually, they made after 10 minutes and eagerly led seungcheol to the art department where photography had a small section of its own. the hallways were filled with art and photos made by students from different years. all varying in style, color, and more.

"hey cheol" jeonghan started, "can we get your number? we can meet up later and plus you can message us whenever you want!"

"oh uh here" seungcheol said quickly, pulling his phone out of his pocket and handing it over to the duo. both writing their numbers in and sending it to themselves.

joshua made sure to hand the quieter of the three his phone back before making a group chat with the three in it. "we'll make sure to message you once we get out too, cheol! bye cutie" he said and dragged the blond along.

inside seungcheol's first lesson, the spent most of their time discussing how to change the exposure from a lighter setting to a darker to fit the type of shot you're trying to take. for the male, the most he was ever taught was how to make it brighter for dark places so he was quite enthusiastic to learn.

though his job was in photography, he wasn't the type to take classes on it and instead just mess around with the buttons. so when phrases like "aperture" and "depth" popped up more frequently, he was lost most of the time. thankfully, a tall, puppy-like male was sweet enough to teach him.

the taller was into video editing and was a lot more talkative than he wished. he seemed very enthusiastic to learn more about the shorter one of the two.

"by the way !! my name is mingyu !! what's yours?" the tall male said enthusiastically.

seungcheol had been playing around with the aperture for a while, the sudden question had a confusing effect on him. maybe it was his inability to process why people would want to communicate with him anyways, but he was never one for long answer responses.

"i'm seungcheol" he said quietly, his tone made him sound quite boring, but a part of him was really excited that he felt butterflies as he tried to figure out his next words.

"you sound so tiny !!" the puppy-like boy spoke, "we should hang out more or !! take some photos together !!"

the smaller looked up from his camera with a smile, not awkward but more enthusiastic, "you aren't joking right- because that would be really fun" seungcheol replied happily.

mingyu returned his smile with a bright on of his own, "why would i joke? my friends sort of model for a small company and i'm kind of their photographer. honestly, with your style it would make the photos even better !! plus i could film the behind the scenes !!"

seungcheol tilted his head, "it sounds great and it would be a huge opportunity, but what's the company?"

"my friend's dad runs it !! oh ! i almost forgot" the taller said cheerfully and pulled out his phone, "if we're going to be working together you better enter your number !! i'll introduce you to my friends after all my classes end !!"

after exchanging contacts, seungcheol looked down to contain his large smile. if people could see his skills, he could have a lot more opportunities rather than the low paying job he has at the photo gallery.

the boy put his phone away and did end up going back to his lesson, but the smile from his face never faded. he nearly forgot that he could meet up with the annoying - but sweet - neighbors of his.
