Chapter Twelve

Y/n's POV.

Our little brawl was suddenly hindered by a familiar voice echoed nearby. I quickly set my gaze off to the rude gentleman and look to the source of the sound. My normal e/c eyes widens as I saw two familiar figures standing at the top of the cargo box, one of them holds a customized scythe and ready to interfere any moment.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?". Roman says as while looking to Ruby and Penny with a playful smile. "Hello Red! Isn't it past your bedtime?".

"Fall back!". I sternly warned them. "It's too dangerous to interv–..".

I stopped once I heard a clicking sound beside me, looking back to my enemy, he's now smirking sinisterly as he aim his weapon towards them.

"Too late to warn them, young miss!". He said and launches a red dust bullet, targeting Ruby.

The shining red dust bullet is already half of it's  way on it's target, oh no.. I don't have enough time to cast and create a magic seal to protect Ruby. However, I still have a time to teleport and save her.

*Sigh* I am going to regret this move later..

I abandoned my post and teleport right in front of Ruby and hug her in time before the shining dust bullet hits her. The dust bullet hits my back and the harsh explosion sent us both down to our knees, making me winced due to the awful burning sensation I felt in my back.

Yup, truly regrettable..

"Y/n!". Ruby shouts in full panic as she slowly embraced my body to to assists me to sit up. Penny came in to my view with a confused expression.

"I-i'm alright.". I said while trying to hide the pain behind my reassuring voice and let go from Ruby's hold.

"Are you sure? You've been directly hit by aaAAH?! WHAT IS THAT?!". I slightly flinched because of her high pitched tone. She quickly placed her hands on my cheek and reeled my head from left to right.

"What's what?". I asked, completely baffled to her strange question.

"What's that shady dark marks under your eyes? Why do you have them?!". She exaggeratedly asks.

Shady dark marks? Oh..that.

Penny bend down in my height and saw what was Ruby's talking to. "Ms. Y/n? You've been fully awake for almost 47 hours, didn't you?". She said and poke my left cheek softly as she could.

I let out a small sigh before nodding my head twice, making Ruby's jaw slightly dropped in shocked.

"Did you...two know each other?". Ruby asked, giving both of us with a suspecting look.

"I'll explain later Ruby, for now. We have to stop these menace before everyone could get hurt.". I said with calm but deep voice.

Once I felt my vessel's regaining it's strength, I slowly stood up and get into my pace. Ruby did the same as she readied her scythe and going to join the skirmish when Penny suddenly steps in and look to the enemy with a scowling expression.

"Wait, Penny! What are you doing?". Ruby asks.

"They hurt Ms. Y/n so I am going to follow a security protocol.". Penny said. "Don't worry about me Ruby. I'm combat ready! ". She opened her back pack, revealing a multiple scientific swords and jumps into the battlefield with a confident smile.

"Ookay? I'm also going in.". Ruby's ready to tag along with Penny but I gesture my left hand to stop her. "Wha..but we need to help them Y/n!".

"I know and we will going to assists them in a nice and non-brutal way.". I said with a gentle voice and pat her head. "Are you with me?".
