Nines waited patiently, flipping though the t.v. channels mindlessly. He sighed and shut off the device, then stood, pacing across his partner's living room.

"He should be home by now..." he said to himself. His LED flickered from blue to yellow as he ran through all the possible scenarios and places where Gavin may be. After their fight earlier, Gavin left without a word.

The best possibility would be for him to be at Tina's. The worst could be...his LED flashed red.

Suddenly there was a thud against the door. Not a knock, but a thud. Nines rushed to the door, twisting the nob; only to have a drunk Gavin fall into his arms.

"Again, Gavin?" the android sighed, pulling Gavin onto the living room couch. "You have to stop going out-" Nines stopped mid-sentence when a bright red substance dripping from Gavin's nose caught his attention. "Gavin are you bleeding?"

"Am I?" he lifted his hand to his nose. "Huh, looks like I am," he sort of laughed. Nines pulled him up, bringing him to his bedroom.

"Did you get into another fight?" Nine's asked, rummaging through the his bedside drawers.

"Maybe..." he cracked his knuckles.

"You're drunk Gavin. Here..." he wiped the blood away from his face. "You got a cut on your forehead too...See this is why you have that scare on your nose," he went on, disinfecting whatever wounds he could find.

"Ouch. And that's not why I have a scar," he added, now holding a tissue to his nose.

"Oh really?" he rolled his eyes.

"Yeah...Switchblade accident," he paused, making awkward eye contact with nines. "Long story."

"Oh of course," he ran a quick scan over Gavin. "You've got a few bruises, but overall nothing serious. I'm very disappointed. I wish you wouldn't have-"

"I'm sorry."

Nines went silent, his LED flickering to yellow.

"What?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean that stuff I said," he explained tossing the bloody tissue in the bin. "I was just, being a dick. Nines you mean I lot to me. And its hard for me-" he started to tear up, "To have someone care about me, like you do. I just couldn't take it, you know?"

Nines had never seen Gavin so vulnerable before. It triggered something in him; something was tugging on his thirium pump, tightening his throat.

"Gavin..." he spoke, his voice sincere. "I..." for once in his life, Nines was speechless.

"I...Nines I love you. And I'm not just saying that 'cus I'm drunk, I really mean it," he took Nines' hands. "I really fucking love you Nines."

Nines felt something in him break; like a bird finally escaping a cage. Was this it? Was he becoming deviant?

"Gavin, I love you too," he found himself saying. And, he really meant it. Without meaning to, Nines suddenly kissed Gavin, clutching his hands. The two practically melted into the kiss; Gavin's hands making their way up Nines' arms to his shoulders as Nines' wrapped his arms around the other's waist.

"I love you Gavin. I really, really, love you," Nines whispered once they pulled away.

"I know," he replied sarcastically.

"Oh don't be a dick," they both chuckled.

"I love you, though. Really I do."

"I love you too."
