"Here's your coffee, detective."
"Thanks," he leaned against his apartment wall, taking the mug and sipping from it as he eyed the nearby piano that was currently pushed up against an empty wall.
"Have you ever actually used that instrument, Reed?" Conan inquired, taking the space next to the other.
"Uh," he chuckled, "I used to. A lot actually. I fiddle with it from time to time...But I just haven't had a lot of time recently," he shrugged, still in his sleepwear (some boxers and a t-shirt).
"Well. I've got to hear you play now," Conan smirked.
"No no," he replied, shaking his head.
"Oh come on. Don't be a tease," he insisted, nudging Gavin. "Please?" He tilted his head.
"Agh fine," he finished off his coffee and sat down at the bench. His fingers moved across the keys, immiting a beautiful tune. He played a soft melancholy song, a stark contrast from Gavin.
"Wow. I'm surprised," Conan said, eye brows raised. "That sounded beautiful, Gavin," he sat next to him.
"Thanks. What about you? You know how to play anything?" He asked, slouching down and holding the edge of the bench.
"Unfortunately not. Cyberlife didn't program me with any knowledge of piano," he placed a finger on one of the keys, "I suppose I could learn."
"You think so?" Gavin sat up straight, turning his head towards the droid. "Well. Do you wanna try?"
"Sure," he smiled.
Gavin got up and stood next to him. For the next hour they went over the basics of piano; including proper hand placement, chords, notes, e.t.c. Gavin was very hands on, leaning over Conan to aid. Often their bodies were pressed closely, creating a tension between the two. Their hands also met many times, causing a funny feeling to arise within the Android.
"Yeah that's about it. You can start making up some pretty stuff from it," he leaned on his shoulder, currently sat next to him. "Here do this..." He reached across Conan and demonstrated on some keys a simple chord for him to play. Conan watched as he did so, nearly unable to focus from how flustered he was in that moment. Nonetheless, he complied and played the chord over and over. Gavin fiddled with the other keys, causing a beautiful song to play.
"This is a duet. You probably new that though," Gavin said as he continued to play. "I've never really played this with someone else," he shrugged, "mainly because I've been too lonely," he chuckled, "No one's ever around."
Conan loved when Gavin laughed. He found it adorable, especially when he'd giggle (which wasn't often). He looked up and down at the other, hoping that he wouldn't notice. Fortunately, Gavin was too caught up in his playing that he didn't see the Android practically staring at him.
Something in his mind clicked, and in that moment he realised just how attractive Gavin was. His messy hair, his fit arms. His endearing half smile and the scar on his nose. His pump beat faster and he felt a rush a heat run through his body. His hand fumbled, causing a sour sound from the piano. He struggled to recover from the mistake, with no avail.
"Damnit that was the best part!" Gavin huffed, placing his hands on his hips. "You okay? You look..." He stopped to analyze the other for a second. "You look, flustered Conan."
"What?" His LED blinked yellow. "I-I'm not flustered," he looked away.
"Look it's just a simple fumble. It's not a big deal," he smiled.
"No that's-... That's not it, detective.." he stared at the piano, trying desperately to keep himself together.
"Then what is it? You got a wire loose or something?" He scooted closer, their hands brushing against each other.
"Can you play something?" Conan spat out.
"Huh? Oh um...I-I guess..." He placed his hands on the keys, starting to play a sonnet. Gavin became so enthralled in the music that he closed his eyes, not noticing the Android lean in closer to him. Conan was now inches away from his face, and in a moment he pecked his cheek.
Gavin frose, his face quickly turning red.
"Did...Did you just kiss-"
Conan leaned in again, pressing their lips together this time. He held his hip, his other hand rested on the bench.
Gavin was startled, but quickly reciprocated the kiss, both hands moving from the piano to Conan's shoulders.
Soon they pulled away, both flustered.
"S-sorry. I just. Had to," the Android explained, embarrassed.
"No-no it's okay...It's great actually. That was, really...good," Gavin breathed out. "You're actually good at kissing."
"Well. I have my talents. You have yours," he smiled.
