So.....It's been a while... I'm so, so, so sorry! :( I've had a rough patch lately with funerals and school. It's all been overwhelming, but I hope you understand. I know this will be uploaded late at night, but I've got good news! Every week I'll be posting a new chapter. I'm not naming a certain day, but you'll get a new chapter once a week! And thank you for all of your votes! it means a lot. Now on to the story! :)

------------------------------------

We've been driving around this town for almost two hours and haven't found one place to stop and scrape up some supplies. I'm really starting to worry. Issac on the other hand is having the time of his life driving this truck. He's been chattering non stop about how it beats the other one, but I just kind of nod and pretend to be interested for his sake.

I can't stop thinking about Megan. She was so young and so frightened. She could've made something  of herself, but instead Cleo had to end it. The anger pulsing through me right now is almost as strong as the sadness in my heart. I should have stayed with Sam. Maybe I could've saved Megan. Maybe I could've done something, but no. I ran like a coward and left Sam to watch her own sister die. How she doesn't hate me...I'll never know.

Issac speaks up, dragging me out of my thoughts. "Hey, check out that place. It looks promising."

He stops the truck so I can get a better look. It's an old barn, surrounded by farming equipment.

"We can take a look around. You never know." He just shrugs and jumps out of the truck.

I scan the area quickly, noticing a lot of machinery. "With all of this farming equipment, we might be able to stifle some gas."

He looks hopeful. "Maybe." We all walk toward the entrance and get our weapons ready. Issac with his gun, and the rest of us with our knives. He silently counts to three and kicks the door open. No one moves for a few seconds and then the moaning begins.

The first zombie emerges from the darkness and shuffles towards us. Hunter presses the knife into its head and jumps back when it falls down. Two more emerge and then another, but it's crawling. Wain takes the crawler and Issac and I take the other two. We quickly end their lives. Wain doesn't have such luck.

"Ah shit! Issac! Linda!" Another zombie had come out of a corner undetected and was towering over Wain. It had to have been over six feet tall and three feet wide. This use to be a big man. It grabbed a hold of Wain and pulled him towards its mouth.

"Linda, move!" Issac pulled his pistol out with lightening speed. I fell to the ground, covering my ears. I heard his gun fire and a heavy thud against the ground following it. The zombie was laying on top of a crying Wain.

Hunter rushed to his side and pushed the giant beast off of him. "Wain! Wain, you okay?"

"Y-yeah. I-I'm sorry guys. I freaked out. I-I didn't mean to-"

Issac cut him off. "We're you bitten or scratched?"

Wain doesn't answer. He just holds his arm out. On it is a huge bite mark.

I couldn't hear anything except screaming. Issac and Hunter were arguing and Wain was crying like a baby. I didn't realize what I was doing until it was over. I had picked up an axe that was hung on one of the walls and slammed it down onto Wain's arm. He screamed in agony.

Hunter rips the axe out of my hands and throws it. "Linda! Are you fucking crazy!"

"Bandage it. Maybe he'll get lucky." I walk away. I'm not loosing anyone else. No today, not tomorrow, not ever. I'm done.
