Storm had headphones in as she was just watching the familiar scenery all go by as the bus wheels squealing was a very familiar sound by now.
The young girl could hardly believe that after everything her mother had done to stop her from going back, to a home that she hadn't been back to in nearly half a decade, she had finally a bit relented.
Storm Hunter Andrews was now finally on a bus back to Riverdale, to the home that she could hardly wait to get back to, and a twin, that she had only texted with not even seen for nearly 5 whole years.
To: Arch
From: Hunter
I hope that you're ready for a huge hug from me Arch. Because if you're even a bit inclined to try and escape it, I won't let you.Storm smiled slightly as she pressed the send button to her brother, and as there was no reply, after a couple of minutes, she puts her phone back in her pocket.
A few hours later, she climbed off of the bus with a smile and a thank you to the driver, and she walked into the bus station.
She walked from there, whistling as she did, taking in the familiar sights of her original hometown.
She looked over at Pop's with a big smile on her face, and she decided to get some food, before she went to see her brother.
"Blueberry scone and a tall flat white to go please." She says and the cashier took her money, and then, Pops came out with her stuff a few minutes after.
"Could it be? Is that you, little Storm Andrews?" He asks, and she smiles at him, nodding.
"Hey Pops. It's been a while. Thanks for these." She said taking the food off of his hands, and he smiled.
"Your brother wasn't in here all too long ago. Your dad is still working at the site if you wanted to see him. He's always busy, your old man is."
Pops says to her with a wink, and Storm smiles at him. "Thanks Pops for everything. I'll see you around." She'd say and shook hands with him, before walking out of the shop.
"Hey!" A voice called out from behind her and someone was walking now in step with her.
"Storm Andrews. You grew." The same guy said, as then, Storm tilts her head, a bit at him.
"Jughead?" She asked quickly, as her brain connected the dots quick and he chuckled at her. "You say that I grew, man! The beanie connected the dots."
She responded and she held out her hand for a handshake, and he gladly shook it quickly.
"So, been living in Chicago for this entire time?" Jughead asked and she nods, as she drunk her coffee.
"You guessed it. You want half?" She asks him, offering him half of the now cold blueberry scone.
"Just like when we were kids. You used to force us all to split our food and each have a bit. It drove everyone crazy. But you always said --" Jughead was smiling now as they walked.
"-- that everyone deserves to be equal, no matter if it's food, social class, or at a grade level." Jughead simply nods as she had finished his sentence.
"Anyways, I guess I'll see you at school, Jug. It was great to see you and get time to catch up." She looked up at her old house, and Jughead poked her in the back.
She looked at him and he poked her again as suddenly a door opened next door.
"No! Storm Andrews?" A blonde girl tossed herself at Storm, who grunted at the sudden impact of being run into by a girl. "Oh my gosh, it's really you!"
She squealed and Storm cocked her head slightly to the side, and the girl shakes her head. "Oh I'm sorry! Betty Cooper, you were about this tall and I was as well when I last saw you." She says, holding her hand just above her waist.
"Betty Cooper?" She asks and Betty nods quickly, and then Storm was in a state of confusion, as she hugged her.
"Anyways, come on, let's get you inside." Betty says, and practically dragging her towards the door and she knocked quickly.
Storm pulled her arm out of Betty's vice grip, and then it was like she was looking in a mirror at herself, when the door finally opened.
Archie looked at Betty, who was standing next to her, and he looked at Storm. "Hey Arch." She murmured to him, and he now looked at her like he didn't know whether to laugh or start crying.
He hugged her tightly as Storm began to shake, as she leaned into the hug. "I can't believe you're here Stormy."
Her brother was shaking as well, but it was now impossible to tell who was shaking more.
"Too long. It's been too long." She whispered as tears began to roll down her cheeks.
"Come on, come inside." Archie motioned behind him with one arm and then suddenly a huge golden blur hit Storm like a cannonball.
"Woah! Easy Vegas!" Archie was saying but by then, Storm was already dropping her duffel bags, and she was scratching Vegas behind the ears.
"Hey buddy. I've missed you! Vegas, man! You got big, boy!" She exclaimed rubbing his head, and he licks her in a caring way and then he barked at her.
"I know, you missed me too. I know you did big boy." She practically was gushing about the retriever, who was practically dragging her towards their Den.
"You can hang out in here with Vegas, unless you'd rather be upstairs, in my room. I can sleep down here." Archie says, as he gestured toward the couch and Storm shrugs her shoulders at his words.
"I guess that it'll definitely take a long time at least awhile to bond again. We were apart for so long Arch." She says and he looked at her.
"Dad should be home soon. He will be glad that you're home." Archie said as he looked at her, before he walked up to his room.
Storm sighed, rubbing the brown colored strands of her permanently dyed hair, and she looked down, her shoulders shaking slightly.
Vegas whined softly and he bumped against her leg, as she sat down, and he leapt up onto the couch beside her and she leaned into him.
The golden retriever would be a friend, a confidant that no one would understand, unless they were of course, Storm Andrews.
