"STEVE! STEVE! STEVE!"
The crowd was screaming. Sam entered Steve's front door, along with Steve. The song "You Spin Me Around" by Dead or Alive was blasting in Steve's party speakers. His parents were on vacation in Florida, so of course. Steve had the house to himself for two weeks, this first week; he has a party, so Steve of him.

The crowd created a gap in the middle of the entryway as Steve and Sam walked through, "Steve I need to change out of my clothes!!" Sam shouted over the crowd. "What?" He asked loudly. Sam grabbed his hand and took him upstairs to his room. "I need to change out of my clothes." She repeated. "Oh right," he walked to his closet pulling out a backpack from the highest shelf. It was Sam's backpack from middle school, it held extra clothes of Sam's in there for when she stays over. "Thanks," she said opening the bag, then walking into Steve's bathroom and changing into a pair of denim shorts, and an old Nike t-shirt from like, freshman year.

She threw on her green converse and walked out throwing her dirty clothes on the floor. "You ready?" He asked, she sighed and laid down on his bed. "What's wrong?" He asked sitting down next to Sam, looking down at her. "Nothing it's just, how do you know when something will ever go your way?" she asked staring at the ceiling.

"Elaborate," he said. "Like," Sam sat up, "so I like Eddie. Right?"

"Right,"

"And sometimes I think maybe, one day I'll grow some damn balls and ask him out. Or maybe I don't! And I'll just wait for him to say something. Or maybe none of those things happen because c'mon, Steve..." Sam started to talk low and play with her fingers.

"Sammy, Sammy, Sammy." Steve shook his head from side to side. "You are one of the coolest girls I've ever met. And if little Eddie Spaghetti down there can't see that, then it's not worth it. I think you should just wait it out, because. It's senior year sam, great things happen senior year. And you're at a party, at my house." He said. "Magical things happen at Steve's house," Steve said smirking. They both laughed and he stood up, reaching his hand down. Sam grabbed it and he pulled her up, off the bed. "Oh, and uh, he said he was gonna be here tonight," Sam said turning him around in the hallway. "See. This is perfect! I'm telling you. Magic." He said shrugging and walking back downstairs.

Sam rolled her eyes and walked with him down his crowded hallways, it reeked of beer and weed downstairs, and Sam could feel the smutty bass line coming from the speakers, thumping in her stomach. She was standing at the end of the staircase staring into the crowd, Steve had walked away, but she couldn't see him so she walked towards the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed a can of Coke. Steve had finally walked over with a cup of beer, sipping it as he watched Sam, she looked at him and almost gagged at the smell of beer.

"Holy shit Sam," Steve said, his face dropped at the sight of Sam's face. "What?" She pleaded touching her face. "Your nose. It's bleeding." He said, Sam brought her fingers to her nose. "What the hell.." She said, with blood on her fingertips. A banging feeling appeared in her head, It felt like a sudden migraine. "Ow, shit!" She cried out. "Here, here's some paper towels uh. Are you okay Sammy?" Steve asked, "I uh, I don't know. I've been getting headaches a lot. And my nose.. this is, like, the fourth one this week." She said wiping her nose and fingers off. "How many fingers am I holding up Sam??" Steve screeched throwing up two fingers. "Two?" she replied.

"Okay, good." Steve exhaled, then Steve's face of worry turned to joy, he looked up and smiled. "Well speak of the Devil." Steve was staring behind Sam. She looked back and saw Eddie just now walking in. "Holy shit he actually came," she said whispering. He was looking around in confusion, but he stopped when he made eye contact with Sam. His face lifted and he started walking over toward Steve and Sam. "Shit, shit, shit," Sam panicked turning to face Steve, looking into his chest, holding her can of Coke tightly. "Can you man up!" He said turning Sam's shoulders around. When she looked back Eddie was standing right in front of her. "Hey, Sam." He said smiling. "Hey," she said nervously. Her hands became sweaty, and the can of Coke was basically slipping out of her hands.
