The next day, Magnus was up early, despite his tired bones telling him to sleep. He snuck out from the tower, and soon out of the school. It was about time he went to talk to Sirius. He knew Harry and the others would have owled him already, but he wanted to see the man in person. For more than just what happened the night before.

"Where are you going?" Magnus jumped as he came to a halt, nearly off the Hogwarts' grounds. He spun around to see George standing a few feet back, looking at Magnus curiously.

"What are you doing here?"

"I asked first."

"But I asked second." Magnus pouted slightly, giving George his best puppy dog eyes.

"Magnus, why are you sneaking off campus? And why didn't you ask me to help? Because I know ways to get out that aren't so obvious."

Magnus huffed slightly, but walked up to stand right in front of George, looking up at him. He was torn between telling George everything and keeping it a secret. "Do you... Know about all the stuff that happened last year? With the golden trio and a certain someone?"

George looked at him curiously, "ya mean how he's innocent and all that? 'Course I do, Ron couldn't stop talking about it for half the summer." Magnus gave a breathing chuckle, relaxing. "Why?"

"Well... I'm going to see Snuffles," Magnus finally relented, pursing his lips. "Harry and the others don't even know, and I didn't know how much you and Fred knew so I kept it quiet... I have to go ask him things. So... think you can keep this quiet?"

George slid his arms around Magnus's waist and pulled him close, smirking. "Do I get to come with?"

Magnus felt a smile creep onto his lips, patting the front of George's robes. "No. Snuffles will be mad enough as it is that I'm sneaking out to see him. I'm sure he'd be even worse if I brought someone along." Grabbing George's robes, he pulled him down into a quick kiss, and for a moment he was tempted to stay, but pulled back quickly. "I have to go before too many others are awake to see me leaving."

"I really don't want you going out there on your own."

"I'll be fine. Just... tell me a way to get back unseen and it'll be even better?" Magnus smirked at George, who gave him a small huff.

It took Magnus nearly two hours to get to the small cave on the mountain. With all the walking, and making it seem like he had come into the village more for some sneaky student business, he had taken a little longer than he'd like. But at the very least, he had a bundle of food and sweets for Sirius as he stepped up to the cave entrance.

"Oh Snufflessss," he called as he slid in, keeping an eye out to make sure nothing attacked him out of fright. Sirius was sitting beside Buckbeak, reading over a letter that looked like it hadn't arrived much longer before Magnus.

"What- You're not supposed to be here!" Sirius growled as he looked up, furrowing his brow. "Didn't I tell you not-"

"Didn't I say you can't boss me around?" Magnus interrupted Sirius, stepping further into the cave. Buckbeak didn't even seem to mind as the wizard drew, cautiously, closer. "I brought peace offerings at least." He held out the bundle of food, grinning. "I think you know how good Madam Rosmerta's food and drink is."

He looked at the bundle with narrowed eyes, before finally taking it. "I've just read the letter from Harry." He started as Magnus moved to sit down across from Sirius. "Honestly, what was Harry thinking, letting Viktor lead him off like that.

Magnus laughed, pulling out a flask of butterbeer for himself. "I was there to keep an eye out, don't worry." It didn't seem to help any of the worry on Sirius's face, and Magnus sent him a small smile. "If Harry hadn't been the one to run off to get Dumbledore, I would have been far more alert. I regret letting myself get caught off guard like that but... Better me than Harry."
