Magnus walked with Harry, Ron, and Hermione down from the Gryffindor tower. George and Fred were off doing some last minute 'chores' as they called them.
"'Aarry!" The four of them watched as Fleur raced up the front stairs of Hogwarts towards them, the Beauxbatons massive carriage in the background and ready to take off. She stopped as she reached them, holding her hand out to Harry with a wide smile. "We will see each uzzer again, I 'ope. I am 'oping to get a job 'ere, to improve my Eenglish."
"It's very good already," Ron said, sounding a bit strangled. Magnus spotted a scowl on Hermione's face as Fleur smiled at Ron, and he couldn't help but smirk slightly.
"I think it'll be wonderful to see you again, Fleur," Magnus said, stepping over to her. "I'm sure your English will be even better the next time we meet," he took her hand and smiled at her, giving her a peck on the cheek- the two had bonded just a tad after the second task.
"Good-bye, 'Arry, Magnus," she smiled as she turned to leave, "it 'az been a pleasure meeting you!" Magnus watched as she ran off back to the carriage, stepping back to stand beside Hermione again.
"Wonder how the Durmstrang students are getting back," Ron said, "d'you reckon they can steer that ship without Karkaroff?"
"Ron, I don't think Karkaroff actually did anything, did he seem like the type to you?" Magnus laughed, adjusting the bag over his shoulder.
"Karkaroff did not steer," they all turned to see Viktor walking over, "he stayed in his cabin and let us all do his vork." Viktor stepped up to Magnus first, giving him a quick handshake. "It vas a pleasure meeting you, Magnus. Come visit anytime you vould like."
The Ravenclaw smiled widely at him, chuckling slightly. "I'll take you up on that offer sometime, I'd love to see Durmstrang's school."
Viktor nodded before turning to Hermione, "could I have a vord?"
"Oh... yes... alright," Magnus could see the flustered look on Hermione's face as she followed Viktor through the crowd.
"You'd better hurry up! The carriages'll be here any minute!" Ron called, quite loudly while attempting to look over the crowd for them, and Magnus couldn't help but laugh. "What?"
"The two of you are so cute sometimes," Magnus teased, a smirk on his lips, and noticed Ron's cheeks flush just slightly. He kept craning his neck to look though.
Shortly after, Viktor and Hermione returned. Hermione looked quite impassive, even as Ron stared at her. Viktor looked at Magnus though, "thank you." The abrupt gratitude caught Magnus off guard, and he raised his brows in question. "You vere alvays nice to me, even though I vos part of Durmstrang - vith Karkaroff."
Magnus just smiled, chuckling softly. "You're a little rough around the edges, but your school doesn't define you, nor does your headmaster."
"Have you got a new headmaster yet?" Harry asked.
Viktor shrugged before shaking both Harry and Ron's hands. Magnus had to hold his tongue at the look he spotted on Ron's face, before turning away towards the carriages as they arrived. "Can I have your autograph?!" He heard Ron call out suddenly, and started laughing quietly as Hermione turned to join him with her own smile.
They all clamored up into one of the carriages a few moments later, staring out at the warm scenery. "Here," Harry shoved a bag towards Magnus, and Magnus could hear the clinking of money in it. "This should be yours, not mine."
Magnus smiled at Harry and pushed it back, chuckling. "Don't pawn it off on me, I don't need it anymore than you."
"But you died! Literally... for a bit."
