*A Couple Days Later*
Ed's POV
"Ed?" Taylor asked nervously as she emerged from the stairwell.
"Yeah?" I stood from my place on the sofa and ran over to her, worrying that she was upset or something. "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing, I just...I want to play guitar with you, if you wouldn't mind. I know I remembered how much fun we had that first time we met and I...I don't know, I just want to have like a little jam session with you." She mumbled, staring at ther feet, and I relaxed.
"Of course, Taylor, I would love to!" She looked up as a small smile graced her beautiful lips. "I'll get our guitars, yeah?" She nodded, and went to take a seat on the couch.
I was so excited, I practically flew to our guitars, grabbed them, and had to restrain myself from skipping all the way back to her.
I gave Taylor her guitar, before sitting next to her with mine in my lap. "What do you want to play, love?" I asked, and she shrugged.
"Play that song we wrote together, I wanna see if I remember it." I nodded and began strumming, studying her face closely to see if any of this was familiar.
Since I figured she wouldn't know any of the lyrics, I decided I would sing both parts. "All I knew, this morning when I woke, is I know something now, know something now, that I didn't before. And all I've seen, since eighteen hours ago, is green eyes, freckles and your smile, in the back of my mind making me feel like," as I took a breath, I noticed there was a little confusion, and she seemed as if though she was on the verge of saying something, or singing along. "I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now. I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now. I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now. I just wanna know you, know you, know you."
For the chorus, I tried singing it a little slower, to help her try and pick up on it. "Coz all I know is we said hello, and your eyes look like coming home, on, all I know is a simple name, everything has changed. All I know is you held the door, you'll be mine and I'll be yours, oh, all I've known since yesterday,"
"Is everything has changed." She sang along softly, and I nodded happily.
"Yes!" I exclaimed, before singing the second verse and the pre-chorus, none of which she remembered. However, when I got to the chorus, it was like we were on the Red Tour again.
"Coz all I know is we said hello, and your eyes look like coming home, oh, I know it's a simple name, everything has changed. All I know is you held the door, you'll be mine and I'll be yours oh, all I've known since yesterday, is everything has changed." She sang the whole chorus through, albeit slowly, but she sang it nonetheless.
I sang the bridge alone, except for the "oh, oh, ohhh," where she joined in, waving her arms much like she did whenever we'd performed it together. We both giggled good-heartedly.
This time, she was able to sing the pre-chorus by herself, just like she always has, with the same pitch as she's always had at the pre-chorus that comes directly after the bridge.
When the chorus kicked in, she didn't sing as quietly or as slowly as she had. She quickly adjusted the capo, and was able to play along too.
"All I've known since yesterday, is everything has changed." We both finished, strumming our guitar one last time.
"Yes! Ed, I've almost completely remembered it!" She exclaimed, and tossed her arms around me, pulling me into a hug. I set my guitar down and moved closer to her, holding her as close as I possibly could.
